“Poorly aged 2000’s dialogue”.

So one of the co-writers for the comic is writing for the Amazon show.

‘Invincible’ Co-Creator Says He’s Intentional In Making Changes For Amazon Series: “I Always Go Through The Comic And Think About How I Can Make Things More Interesting”

Good call on Amazon's behalf to get one of the original comic book writers involved. But it is obvious how many compromises the guy is making to the quality of the original script.

Is the guy just excited to be getting a big paycheck and is willing to compromise everything?

Did he get consumed by the woke mind virus between the time he wrote the comic and this show came out?

Maybe it is his fault that he cannot figure out how to properly pace a show for a TV series. But if he can't do it, then what the hell are all of the other writers on the script doing? And why is the director/show runner failing to make sure pacing works?

I can understand the comic book writer not being fully capable to to translate love relationships into a moving medium. But should there be at least one writer on the script who knows how to do that correctly?

This is so frustrating because they are so close to having a really good show, but they keep on fumbling it every time they get the ball.

Nobody ever fucking dies in this fucking show.
Yeah, I'm waiting to see how they inevitably bring Rex back beyond Robot's creepy obssession with him. He went out like a boss, bringing him back at all would just kill how badass his sacrifice was and lessen his arc of becoming a better and more likeable person. They don't have the fucking balls to keep him dead though, Rae proved that. I'm gonna laugh so fucking hard if Darkwing 2 is the only semi-important character who's death sticks this season. Leave it to the progressive minded to kill off the black man and only the black man.
I know he comes back in the comics, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if they just forgot about him. I also don't see them killing Oliver off. If they can't even kill off a jobber nobody like Rae, there's no fucking way they'll pull the trigger on Oliver.

Also saw someone else in thread noting how Mark is a boring reactive main character. I have to agree. It's really saying something when Oliver, a mutant alien hybrid who isn't even a fuckin' year old, understands what being a hero means far more than his older brother. You need to be out there, on top of shit, because you have the power to make the fuckin' difference, and sometimes that means particularly evil people NEED to die for the greater good.

I'm not familiar with the comics, but that end of the episode montage where they showed there was still like 12 unresolved major plot threads because nobody ever fucking dies was pretty funny.

I also like how Mark didn't check to see if Conquest was still alive/supervise the destruction of his body, considering the entire previous episode was dealing with the ramifications of the last time he failed to kill somebody by smashing their head into paste. If Angstrom survived having his head turned into pudding, surely Conquest could survive having his head turned into mashed potatoes.

It made him look really retarded when he resolved to start killing his enemies at the end when he just handwaved the responsibility of body disposal to Cecil, who has been openly turning every marginally useful dead person into Zombies for the soul purpose of possibily killing Mark.
So i'm just scrolling and this shit pops up in my feed with the caption "why is the animation in this show so mid?" Lol what the fuck.
You know. I might be one of the few people who has almost no issue with the shit animation. I'm not defending it by any means, it looks like ass.

At least they aren't making me wait 2-4 years between seasons of this fucking shit like some shows only to tread water on forced D-list character romance plots.

I feel like Rae only survived just for the sake of Rex's character and giving him his own subplot just to build up his death more.

I feel like Rex won't come back to life but they'll probably do something with him either in the Hell arc or give him his own special given there was stuff Rex did that wasn't adapted yet.

Robot's creepy obssession with him.
It's really weird that they call out how fucking creepy it is that Robot stole his coworker's body because he wanted to date a chick that looked like she was twelve, but then nobody says shit about him basically taking his name post mortem when the actual Rex would absolutely tell him not to do that.

Speaking of people not dying, I can believe that Viltrumite healing is extremely busted when it comes fights where they all leave fucking disemboweled, then take a breather for like a week and come back good as new. But there's no fucking way that Angstrom should physically be capable of having his face smashed in by an angry Viltrumite and still being able to not only move his hand, but have enough brain activity to specifically open a portal to the technicians' dimension. Even if his brain extends to lower inside of him...that's still his entire head and all the important shit in it that got turned into a fucking hamburger patty, you can't just power through that kind of head trauma no matter how strong you are.

That, and also the fact that she shares the same VA with Monster Girl, who for plot purposes will be gone for a season or so real soon, so I suspect she's still around so the VA is still around. Feel like mentioning that for those who didn't read the comics, Shrinking Ray died to Komodo Dragon.

Some guy on Twitter just posted the last page of the comic. You know, I started reading it because I wanted to nullify the spoilers but they just don't stop. No matter how far I go, someone just casually posts something even further I wasn't even thinking of and then when you complain, they hit you with the "The comic ended 10 years ago". It's just aggravating at this point.

That one year delay really fucked things up. Western Media had no real direct Manga to Anime equivalent until now. There's no culture of laughing at the anime onlys and watching them freak out. I was actually surprised at first at how much random youtubers who went into the comic from the first season kept bringing up all the shit that happens with no warning. Like, come the fuck on. There are going to be so many less entertaining reactions because everyone already fucking knows what happens. People were spoiling Invincible War and Conquest before Season 2 came out and ended

In the comics it's something to do with their heart, Nolan tells Mark that as long as their heart remains intact they can heal, but if their heart is severely damaged they will lose a lot of their healing capacity and likely die.

comic is still better

also, holy shit, they're really saying amber being a nigger is a good thing

Acting like Debbie is some kind of hero for fucking Nolan is even worse, but normies eat morally superior do nothing characters up. I do like her being way more anxious about Oliver though.
The attitude behind statements like "poorly aged 2000s dialogue" is expressed not just by unpaid PR shills like that poster, but also by a depressing number of people in "the Industry" which is why so many characters in television shows and films talk like a quirky company-wide email from some Human Resources suit trying to be down to earth and relatable or an eighth-grade Redditor who uses swear words like punctuation with little inbetween.

So, comic spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk, and please do read the comic in the wait for season 4. You can find it for free on ReadComicsOnline or archive.org

In the comics, Rae (who was a male in that version) dies during the Lizard League raid while the rest of the team were fightin' off the Sequids in space. In the show, they saved her and gave her an arc of romance with Rex. Considering that next season both Rex and Amanda will f* off to the Flaxan dimension for 700 years and return only a few months later, completely changed as characters, which will lead to Rex autism to find a solution of reforming Earth and defending it from inner and outer threats, I imagine Rae will be on the "rebels" side, alongside Immortal and Dupli-Kate and others, and she'll shrink down to fuck with Robot inner circuitry and shit.

That is, if they remember that her character exists in the coming seasons.

Comic readers honestly spoiled almost every plot point for me and honestly I feel like Rae may get stuff given the show version is a pretty popular character

Anyway I am going to be like everyone else and deadname the fuck out of Rudy/Robot. He stole Rex's DNA, and his name at his own funeral.

Still a great character though

I'll deadname him both out of spite and convenience, because the two rexes shit is gonna get so damn confusing when it comes to discussing this show, even if one's dead.

i was pretty convinced they werent going to kill rex, given hes spent the last few episodes saying things like its better to have had his fucked up childhood that allowed him to be a super hero than be a no body, and that he decided to not leave superheroing behind like Rae did,

so i fully expected him to pop up depowered from his big explosion hed miraculously survived somehow to Rae in those ending vignette scenes and theyd both dissapear from the show.

im glad they didnt because well, no one seems to actually die in this show besides duplikate and immortal, the 2 characters whos super power is they cant die.

but im also sad to see rex go because he was the best character on the show.

Hype culture is a cancer to discourse. Basic manners and tact simply don't exist on social media for a lot of people.

Season 3 was pretty great, but I had some hope Immortal would actually win a fight at some point... guess not. People gripe that Mark always loses but I think it usually makes sense and he does have his moments. I like to think Immortal is constantly dumped on and fucked over because of Kirkman's personal hatred of Abraham Lincoln.

I like Darkwing II, glad he survived getting Darkwing I'd.
