Ending was simply meh, I am stronger than you because I care nigga he can rip you in half with his bare hands and has 1000s of years more combat experience than you.

It could go with the existing gimmick of everyone (except Yakub) is not a complete monster so why not just talk it over? and write Freddy Mercury fucking off after Mark points out he killed more Viltrumites than anyone else combined. Give him a sequel-hook quip like "Our empires will clash and the winner will lead New Viltrum to glory... eventually" or something.
I preferred that one three post greentext that one anon did in the previous thread.

Well, it's over

I originally liked the ending, but that was when my standards were far more lax as I wasn't much of a writer myself. Mark becomes his own antithesis. In fact, Mark couldn't be really said to believe in anything. He's just a plot device after Viltrumite War. Really, everyone is. It's fucking ridiculous.

And Kirkman, IIRC, has said he wants to add more original plotlines. Because that fantastic Hell episode no one liked was such a promising addition. People are going to turn on this harder and faster than they did every other slop of the past ten years.

or just magically becoming a different person
The funniest part about the ending is that Mark manages to prove both Thaddeus and Thragg right at the same time. Though considering the fate in store for Earth, I'm not so sure that Mark's empire is quite as fantastic as the story is trying to pretend it is.

Mark should never have recovered from being infected by the scourge virus. The fucking fact that he was given the opportunity to fix everything and spat in everyone's face for his own selfish ends makes him more evil than Thragg.
At least Thragg believed in something. Mark only does what immediately benefits him.

I saw that post several times throughout the storytime.
good fucking lord, kirkman is a hack or is so stupid he has to pretend like he intentionally made mark one of the most retarded protagonists to ever live

and so, Watchmen remains the only half-decent superhero "deconstruction" to this very day
