I’d never watched the full video before because I knew I’d be hashtag triggered on the internet but I figured now that the conversation was going again, it might be worth watching. A late rating for my thoughts:
The fact that she's so overspecific about the whole set-up but all vague and "I don't remember
exactly" about the incidents themselves just scream liar. It's the exact opposite of a real victim-- a real victim might be hazy on the details surrounding (why they were there with their abuser, how long they had been together) but they would most certainly remember specifics about the incident, i.e. what was said, how they were assaulted, even down to uncommon things to remember like certain scents in the air or what they were wearing. Amber just remembers enough to convince you she's totally not lying, but too little to make any solid statements in case anyone refutes her. ("How could that have happened if xxxx?" "Oh, well my memory is kind of hazy, it's been so long")
And what's the deal with this whole confession anyway? "I don't wanna share this but I'm gonna have to" why? Why make this video at all? If you feel empowered by telling your story then sure, stupid move making a video to strangers about it but I'm not gonna tell you how to live your life. But cut the bullshit about "I don't wanna say this but I have to", that is in no way the case unless you're testifying in court. You know, something effective. She's just spouting whatever phrases make her seem like a battered hero. Ridiculous.
Also "She choked me and I was like 'wut'."
Before this becomes a page long late post, I'm gonna cut this short and say: There is no such thing as a perfect victim. Real victims can intentionally make up details or fabricate parts of their stories, they can make false allegations on top of their real one. They can be obnoxious and overdramatic and use their experience as an excuse for bad behavior. They can be narcissistic, abusive cows like Amberlynn and still get raped, and that rape is just as valid as anyone else's and should be treated with the same level of sensitivity.
Amber, though there may be a popcorn kernel of truth somewhere deep, DEEEP in her tale, is a fucking liar and deserves not an ounce of sympathy.
In a few years when she finds an even dumber adult child to wipe her folds and the break-up happens, she is no doubt going to accuse Becky of some form of abuse. Probably something along the lines of "she drank 24/7 and beat me until I was unconscious I was so scared to tell you guise like I was living in FEAR". And no matter how obvious her lie is, no matter who comes forward to refute, she's gonna stick to it. Her life motto is old habits die hard.
