It seems that she saved enough money to pay for bariatric surgery. She said that much last year when she went to that surgeon. What is drying up, it is her monthly income from YT. A lot of YTers are feeling the pinch too. She does not want to use her savings to pay for monthly expenses but might have if her YT income continues to be reduced. Instead of having a proper budget, she haphazardly try to maintain her style of living. She bragged last year that she made $10k per month, now it is down to a third or less, and it is hurting her.

So I wonder how Amber claims becky for tax purposes. Does becky get some BS 1099 just to some some income (I don't know if work is a requirement for medicaid like it is for food stamps), or does she claim Becky as a dependent to lower her own tax liability? If that's the case, would Becky then qualify for medicaid?

Where I'm going with all of this is: I wonder if Amber screwed Becky out of a stimulus check. If Amber doesn't claim her as a dependent (though 'm assuming her accountant would have encouraged her to file as head of household), and she doesn't make any money or has a 1099, she'd be eligible. But when Amber allegedly did her taxes, it was before any of this was on the radar.

I think Becky is a complete loser, but I'd love it if she had 1,200 of her own to wave in amber's face and spend it however she wants, or use it as a safety net, or basically to keep amber on her toes because 1,200 in backwoods KY is probably "I can make a choice about where/how I live and/or can buy my own car" money.

She would get a check if she and Becky were married, because married couples filing jointly get the full amount making up to 150k per year. But Amber and Becky are not married, so if Amber made over 99k, Amber will get nothing. AFAIK, if Becky hasn't been filing taxes due to having no income, Becky will get nothing.
