I've just started going through her thread from page 1 & the details of her various legal issues was rather enlightening; knew about them but didn't realize how deep that cess pit happened to be. Anyway, even if Amy's intentions with this were pure as the driven snow & for all I know, they might be; the fact is that any wildfire, not to mention fires on the scale they're seeing in Oregon easily devolves into complete chaos. Things happen fast - evacuation, road closures; emergency staff are scrambling to limit human, animal & property losses & the last thing they need is a naive, (okay - stupid), do-gooder getting in the way & possibly putting themselves at risk. IF I followed a 'non-fat' who'd announced the same plans, I would be just as disapproving. I don't care who you are - if you're not a first responder or authorized charity/aid rep, stay the hell out of there.

As to why people don't give skinnier YouTubers who are problematic shit, I've checked out a few of them & have to wonder how bad her vision problems are. They get plenty of flack. Skinny reaction channels get flack if the people are seen as problematic.

But it suits her narrative to play the fat shamed victim & she has to know right now that compared to the other death fats followed here, she's become boring as hell. Pretty obvious attempt at trying to bring attention back to herself. Not going to work - she's a one trick pony.

She must be in dire need for money to try pretty well anything to incite interests in her channel. She hated the reaction channels so much but now she wants them back. She is indeed a one-trick pony. they are not coming back for the simple reason that there is nothing to react to.

I listen to a very successful podcast, and at their last podcast, they said that most advertisements, where they get their income, has pretty well dried up and now asked listeners to subscribe to their Patreon. They had a Patreon for quite some time where they have extended interviews, have Q&A and other items that enhance the podcasts. I am sure that other podcasters and YTers are noticing the same loss of income from advertisements. Amber is very much in the same boat and her CPM is likely less than 2. Diversification is the name of the game but by cheapening her vlogs hoping that people will go to her Patreon especially if it is not different than what she always vlogging about, is not going to work. Basically, she is creating a paywall around her channel. People do not mind clicking on her channel to be able to comment positively or negatively, but very few will be spending money to do so. What is likely to happen is that someone will subscribe to the Patreon and then quickly repost it on YT for everyone to see. This Patreon will not last very long.

Instead, for her to make money is by creating one or more channels and hoping that people on the original channel will subscribe and watch those channels. Other YTers have done it. One channel could be on cooking, one on hauls, one on weight loss, etc. By now, the easy money has been made, but to continue growing her channel, it will require effort. Unfortunately, effort is not what Amber is about.
