:powerlevel: One of my relatives bought a used car from a guy who was about 500lbs. The driver's seat had a permanent lean, the hinges on the door were worn out, and there were suspension issues. Necky's car probably has a clusterfuck of issues that she isn't aware of, or has ignored. Cars are meant to carry a lot of weight, but in this case we're talking about a morbidly obese toddler who has to be chauffeured around on a near daily basis.

I wonder if they'll try to get a Lyft or Uber ride once they start having Texas Roadhouse withdrawals. A lot of the drivers pass right by morbidly obese people, especially if there's a group. They can feel the difference that the weight makes on their car while accelerating and braking, and they don't want there to be any safety or liability problems when it comes to someone as big as AL trying to get in and out of their car. And we've seen AL struggle to get out of Necky's car plenty of times.

Edited to fix a mistake.

She said it stopped working while they were driving... Well no shit with all that weight it's carrying around :story:

As funny as that should be it probably is the truth. People have posted the maximum weight for that model of Hyundai Honda. I wonder what the tow truck driver thought when he saw her...then he had to help the dainty princess up in the truck.

Didn't they get that car new? I'm not sure what year it is, but Hyundai has a 3 year warranty w/ new cars right? I don't know if they bought or leased, but AL acts like they bought that car, er, she bought that car. Would a warranty be void if you're constantly carrying over the max weight limit?

I drive Uber/Lyft. If you cannot buckle your safety restraint, I do not carry extenders. Sorry but trip canceled.
(I think I got power leveled last time I responded about this but Yeah... I don’t carry seatbelt extenders in my car. You figure your ride issues out.)

I can't imagine they bought it new. Even with Becky working at the time, I got the feeling there was either no downpayment money available from Becky or AL "just wanted" to get her a newer car. I'm not sure at all what Becky made at 'da saw mill' but if it was a 2018 model, (Elantra? msrp 16,950. Sonata? 22,050. Accent 14,995. Civic 18,840) she likely didn't qualify on her own, and I don't think the Youtube qualifies as a real job for cars unless you are paying a chunk in cash, or its a used car dealership where you are putting a larger portion down because the car's value is less.

Screenshot_20180406-002111_Twitter.jpg wouldn't the correct word be "us"? Thanks to everyone who helped us out ... her AND Becky?

Some vlog said it was a 2014. An Accent.

If that car is out of commission for a while, I fear for Ricky's vehicle. How long until it becomes Hamber's taxi?

No way will Amberlynn fit in the passenger's seat or the backseat of the Kia Soul. They're incredibly roomy cars but there definitely isn't enough room in the backseat for our hamplanet and I sincerely doubt there'd be enough room in the front seat for her without her spilling over into the center console at the least.

Hyundai/Kia have pretty great warranties within reason - they have a 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty for new owners and 5 year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty for second and subsequent owners. They also offer a 5 year/60,000 mile New Vehicle Limited warranty; I don't really know the specifics of how the warranty transfers work out but they'll continue throwing free shit at you left and right if you're within these miles so a used low mileage Hyundai or Kia isn't a bad way to go.

That said, I'm sure the Accent they have is within 5 years but if I remember correctly it's way past the 60,000 mile mark (edit: I want to say it was closer to 85k? when they first purchased it) so they're kind of shit out of luck.

KBB on those is roughly $9,138 - $9,138, and that's for a good condition one - not sure what dealer markup in KY would be but I'd probably estimate 11-12k if it was a good condition one. More if they went somewhere less reputable. Possibly even more if they are bad a negotiating. Which they likely are.

Edit: lol I noticed I pasted the KBB values directly which are... the same. Leaving it, but its hilarious

Because AL aren’t the brightest people I bet they bought a lemon. It probably had a gagillion miles on it. I remember them saying that Becky was getting the oil changed all of the time with it which I thought was odd. I am guessing they bought the car from one of those “no credit, no problem!” lots, and didn’t get it checked out by a mechanic before they bought it. Depending on what could be wrong, like needing a new tranny (pun intended) they could end up careless which will definitely be interesting!

Amberlynn said that they had to get the oil changed "all the time, every three months," which is how often you're supposed to get it changed anyway. She knows as much as about cars as she does about anything in this world. I'm sure she'll make a huge drama about breaking down and how scary it was, and it'll be funny to watch her fumble while she tries to describe what went wrong, like when Becky fell on her fat ass.
