Why is she buying physical books when she has a kindle? You can use your library card to rent books from the library on kindle or if you want to buy them they’re usually cheaper. Or if you have a kindle unlimited subscription you have access to a ton of books for like $10 a month.
The kindle also allows you to take notes and highlight text. You can even see popular highlights in books if you have the setting turned on. It’s actually pretty neat and I use these features myself.

You can even make a book club and upload reviews directly to goodreads from the kindle if that’s the sort of thing you’re into.

I don’t know why she bought the kindle when it’s clear she’s not the type of person who would benefit from the device, you know like actual readers.

And all of that doesn't even take into account the tens (hundreds?) of THOUSANDS of FREE open source digital books available for download from the Internet Archive or Project Gutenberg (and many other sites, but those are the most commonly known). And don't forget the, um, uploads of copyright protected resources by enthusiastic fans of the materials who ACCIDENTALLY thought they were open source). Most definitely a way to expand your interests, as there are more free digital books floating around than even the most voracious reader could finish in their time on earth.

A small PL, I am skiing in western Canada right now. The people are very nice, the food good, and the snow fantastic. There is a lot of brits, aussies, Americans and of course Canadians. One group in particular that we do not see, are women with a BMI of nearly 100. The reason, ski resorts are fatphobics. Furthermore, the whole ski industry is fatphobic. I do not know any ski boot manufacturers that are spending their resources is creating boots that would fit Amber’s legs and I do not know any apparel companies that create ski pants large enough for Amber. They are all fatphobics.

The HAES movement, which Amber is certainly a follower, is telling all morbidly obese people that they should be able to do all activities that regularly sized people do.
