I don't know how old her dog is, but fatty lumps can be common in older dogs. They feel soft to the touch and are harmless to the dog.

The only issue would be if the size or location of the lump (or lumps) made it more difficult for the dog to move around; then they would need to be removed. But otherwise they don't need any medical treatment.
