Topics such as EDs were lumped in with mental health, self-harm etc. Eugenia Cooney was directly referenced in the case. As a result, YouTube and TikTok are cleaning house, as the case is about endangering minors, and they could lose 10's of billions.

As a result, YouTube and TikTok additionally added a tab on self-harm regarding eating disorders/disordered eating. This of course, opens Amber up right in the firing line. It is not only people reporting but also litigants who work with YouTube who are dealing with this case.

Karina Kaboom pointed this out, and I forgot this factor, too. YouTube now penalizes you retroactively, not only current. So in the window, Amber had to delete videos, or private, but she did not do so. All of this is of her doing. Trisha Paytas nuked almost 2000 videos in a day, and is thus fine because she acted accordingly to guidelines.

In her live she did, she even broke ToS then, as she asked her audience to go over and give money on Cameo. Remember advertising Cameo is fine, but the difference is as a demonetized channel, her saying it is subverting ways to pay her. She could qualify for SSI disability once her income has dropped well below poverty level for months. She's quite literally disabled at this point. Fat isn't a qualification, but the health problems that come with a decade of 500+ lb weight are qualifying.

Most people on My 600 Lb Life are on SSI. Some people assume self-induced or addiction-related conditions are disqualifying, but the cause of disability isn't a factor in SSI.

She has significant joint damage, low education and job experience that will prevent employment in a sit down job that offers full time hours. She probably has enough unmentioned health problems to qualify as well. Think Becky minus the heart attack.

But the process to get approved is two years on average and she'll need to find free clinic doctors to get her paperwork started. Applicants usually get denied the first time unless they're blind (special category), completely disabled since childhood or literally dying. They need to file an appeal and wait through that process.

She used to save money when she had high earnings. She supposedly had a big savings account that she blew through when she got cancer and didn't have health insurance.

She can immediately turn to cheap Walmart food, but she can't lower her rent without moving and she still needs a phone plan and utilities. She's lucky she didn't get a car. She can't go back in time and build up savings she didn't think she'd need.

That's not true. When Mukbangs were promoted heavily and popular, they featured people who were mostly of normal size; they didn't talk about their unhealthy relationships with food or mental health. The origin of Mukbangs can be traced back to South Korea, where it serves as a way for people to feel less lonely and enjoy "eat with someone". Westerners picked up on the idea, and it soon turned into overeating, click-baiting with large amounts of food, or Asians eating live fish/fish bugs.

The only reason it's gotten to this point is because people like Amber and Chantal, or even Ana people, are that they used the term "mukbang" as a shield or defence for their actual eating disorders and poor mental health.

It's like an alcoholic jumping on a trend of "tasting these viral vodka flavours" when they are visually in poor health, having mentioned alcoholism before.

I think the issue is that both Amber and Chantal did not future-proof their income. Relying solely on YouTube is a fool’s paradise. They could have tried to find other sources of income, broaden the type of content they post, gone to school to learn trade or a profession while having YouTube paid for that education. But no. This is a gorl who spends several thousands of dollars a month on doordash, amazon hauls, replacing cat litter trays she's too lazy to clean, jars to empty jars of other things into, etc... and IDK how much her rent might be but I'm sure one of the autistic gorls here can find out. Long term?.... Yeah, she's probably fucked. Hambo is incapable of learning or doing what anyone says and YouTube doesn't want to monetize her self-destructive behaviour anymore. No one is going to sit and watch her build LEGO sets, do diamond painting, or draw the same swirly doodle for the five hundreth time. She seems to have her little loyal following of dents that seem content to pay her monthly livestream fee (regardless of whether Amber actually goes live or not) and send endless "How do you stay so brave with all the hate" superchats. And that amount is likely more than enough to cover her survival expenses and enough poverty survival food to cover her daily 5,000 calorie requirements.

Apologies for double-posting but this is a good question. I stated a week or 2 back that Amber during the cancer arc had to pay upfront due to being uninsured and not paying prior medical bills. This was an easy 100k, altogether, hence why she did not have supplemental treatment; she did not want to pay for it. If she has received 2 strikes, she clearly took one because she went live after she ate the ban. If she has a second ban, she cannot appeal for re-monesizeation for 90 days.

Karina points out a major issue for Amber, too and that is her taxes for years 2025/26. Her taxes are easily in the 20-30k range. She made 30k in SuperChats this year. In reality ,21k after their cut.
