She should set up a GoFundMe to cover her expenses due to unexpected income loss. Unlike Chantal, this wouldn't be a scam for something she's being dishonest about. Amber really does need bills paid and we know from the E-Beggars thread that "online creators" set them up for general living expenses all the time.
Instead, she's trying to get overpriced Cameos from fans who pity her. Cameos are taxed at self-employment rates, while gifts aren't taxed if they come from private people and are each under 10k (long story I won't get into with the 10k)

Good point. She doesn't have any medical records since the last post cancer surgery check up forever ago. She should get a paper trail going now for future eligibility. For any chance for her to get disability, SSA wants at least 1 year of records for physical conditions and 2 years for mental conditions.
That's not the process for regular cash welfare, that's for permanent disability payments through SSI.I never knew American welfare claims worked like that.
There's also a much more generous disability program called SSDI that requires several years of work within the last eight years. I doubt she could qualify for that.
The American welfare system is more generous than people realize, but it's a labyrinth of programs for each thing and it's run through states. It's easy to qualify for EBT (food stamps), Obamaphones, reduced utilities, etc if you're low income. You don't need to be disabled. There's usually work or education requirements after a few months for non-disabled adults.
There's a less well known cash welfare program called TANF that's for families, but she couldn't get that as a single adult without kids. WIC is only for pregnant women, children age 5 and under plus their mothers. There are free school lunch programs that include breakfast, but that's only for school kids.
Amber would have a really hard time getting section 8 subsidized/free housing unless she was already on SSI and then got on a really long waiting list. Families with kids get priority, then the legally disabled. Some childless people successfully jump the line by intentionally becoming homeless and working through a shelter-based advocacy program that will get you into a place free until your Section 8 comes through. There was a deathfat that did that for a year. Maybe Polissa?
