Hi Tammie,

Thank you for coming here. Amber and I were once online friends, and she stabbed me in the back after she got all she could out of me emotionally. I know a lot of people here are former friends and supporters of hers. I don't think any of us are really here to bash her. All of us would be very happy if she got herself together and started to lose weight. She has such a good way of guilting people into doing things for her. The drug addicted parents/foster care story is so heart-wrenching. She has given up so many opportunities, and continues to claim that she's alone or that people don't care. It's very sad.

My question is, do you think somewhere deep down Amber has a good heart? I have a hard time with her because I am the kind of person who believes in the goodness of others, but I just can't see any light in her.

I've wondered this since you've popped up the last few days.. what is your motivation for intervening and spilling all this truth? Are you hoping once Amber's charade is broken she'll move towards change? Have you just been frustrated for too long? Do you know who put the idea in Amber's head that she has a talent for writing? She mentioned one specific teacher she became close to because they liked the same author.
As mentioned earlier, many here feel she has NPD or at least a high degree of narcissistic traits and most likely has the emotional age of a young child. If you are in counseling, why do you not accept the counselor's advice to cut off contact because you are on the losing end of this battle?

It's funny you mention Her being narcissistic.. last night in her second younow of the day someone told her about her aunt doing the snapchat questions and AL called her ( tammie) narcissistic and I'm pretty sure psychotic as well. I think AL projects herself onto anyone and everyone she possibly can at the time.. and the shade she throws at others is unreal...it's like she doesn't see herself in the mirror, she sees a distorted version that she's made up in her head and it's literally going to be what destroys her.

I know Amber struggles with food addiction, but do you think Amber would be successful if she had weight loss surgery? I'm wondering if it would be enough of a wake up call for her to change her ways.

Has Amber's father been involved in her life at all? I get the picture that he was pretty much absent from her life and her mother was main parent. Is that accurate?

This next question might be difficult, and I apologize if it causes you emotional stress. What was your reaction when Amber first accused her ex of rape? Did you think it was legitimate at first, or did you always suspect Amber was lying.? Did this event change your perception of Amber or did it not surprise you since Amber had a history of lying?

In Al's mind there is nothing wrong with her, it's everyone else who is wrong.
That's why Aunt Tammie needs to really educate herself about what is most likely going on here. The way she spoke about her counselor made me think this counselor understands narc behavior and is giving Tammie the best advice she can give...which is RUN. Narcissists are people that that won't seek psychological help...it's the confused victim who seeks help because they don't get what is really going on .

Soooo did I leave Amber because she was FAT !? Hell NO !!!!
I detached because she became toxic and self destructive and I was becoming a hamster in a hamster wheel .

Amber's always quick to say it took me until I was in my 40's to " figure it out " to lose my weight " and I use to say " Yes it did , but thats the great thing YOU DON'T HAVE TO "

I was wondering this as well. Seeing someone whose this young weigh so much and do nothing about it is honestly depressing. Perhaps that's why she behaves this way, because she isn't happy with herself.

The lowest she says she remembered ever being was 290lbs at 11 years old, when she started Weight Watchers for the first time. About three times larger than the average kid her age. By 16, she says she weighed 420lbs. At some point, a teacher even stepped in and paid for her to go back on Weight Watchers.

Needless to say, it didn't take.

No kidding. It'd be a challenge for anyone to maintain a constant online identity like that. Human memory is already total shit for details. We don't have an easy time keeping details straight in our minds even when we're not intentionally trying to mislead or deceive. Someone said once that we don't remember events; we rather remember the last time we remembered that event. It's a giant game of Telephone. So I try to be forgiving in those cases. Misremembering stuff, even important stuff, is part of being human.

And if someone not too bright is trying to be deceptive, well, all bets are off. Big Al has this narrative she wants to sell about herself, so her stories are built around supporting that narrative. Like with her "coming out" video, where she wanted to present herself as this terribly brave lesbian who came out to her dad for Pride Week, but forgot she did that years ago. Or she wants to sell the idea that she's a forgiving little angel who values family above all, even though she does nothing to support that notion outside of saying she's like that. She doesn't understand why nobody buys these narratives, even gets peeved that the stories are rejected. To her, everything looks great. She believes the lies she tells. To me, that's why she's such a fascinating lolcow. There's just this total lack of self-awareness.

I suspect Amber is smoking and if she becomes a habitual user with her food addiction and drinking, it will become a big fucking deal.

With most people weed is fine. But heavy use can kill your motivation and make you hungry. Also, if you have an addictive personality (which I think it's safe to say Amber has), it's easy to become dependent (which is a different thing from being addicted). It seems that Amber is becoming dependent on alcohol. It does seem hypocritical that her mother had drug and alcohol addiction issues and Amber makes a huge deal about not touching any kind of pills because of that but will happily down bottles of wine.
She's gained a lot since she got together with Becky. Perhaps part of that is her smoking weed with her? Just to be clear I have no problem with weed but have experienced firsthand how it can kill motivation and increase appetite.


I don't blame Amber for not wanting anything to do with her mother. Her parents chose substance abuse over their children and that's pretty despicable. She doesn't have to have any contact with those people if she doesn't want to. Having said that, she can't decide she can't forgive and then turn around and act as if she totally forgives them and cares in videos for views/pity/money. That's really low.


Tammie, congratulations on your weight loss. I hope your sister recovers from her cancer and continues to recover from her substance abuse issues. I'm sure she would love to reconnect with Amber, but that's not going to be possible if Amber is dishonest and toxic.

My question for Tammie:
How much do you believe Amber weighs right now? She claims 469 but was around that weight (allegedly) months ago and we all believe she's gained substantially since then. Can you estimate based on her appearance in the videos and your experience as a formerly obese person? I hope that wasn't offensive.

One would think so. That's a lot of bending and hoisting up feed bags and what not.

I can totally see someone having joint and mobility issues to the point where they can't maintain a job BUT can still have good days where they're able to do mostly normal stuff sometimes. I know someone like that. What I can't see is someone claiming those issues who adopts a lifestyle and pets that absolutely require a lot of regular lifting and moving around. Maybe the people giving out disability money in Kentucky are just as dense as the Monster Squad is.
