I understand why you like her, but if you aren't aware, here's a video of her, along with Amber, mishandling their pets. She even hits their poor puppy on the nose.
(I also hope that this doesn't come off as a slight towards you in some way, in the manner of "YOU'RE WRONG FOR LIKING THESE TWO ARGH!1!". Just trying to be helpful and informative.)
Not at all - actually, as soon as I posted I remember the animal vid. But thank you, I'm new to this whole drama and there's a LOT I don't know.
Althoigh i think the video is appalling, I'm actually far more angry with the other two. Certainly at that point I got the impression Destiny was very immature and she habdled both animals like a child who doesn't know better. It's not just the puppy-slap, its how she was dangling Wasabi but NEITHER of the others said anything? That doesn't excuse her, but the owner of the puppy should have said somethong and as for fucking Lumber....don't get me started.
I meant the post really in terms of the relationship between the humans. Destiny's not the brightest bulb and seems to have a fairly child-like attitude - and that means easy to guilt, easy to manipulate and a specific type of loyalty. They worked with Dana and I can see all too easily how low Destiny must have been feeling to even start talking honestly. She was very young when she met AL and overnight went from an online relationship to a full-on, in yer face, 24/7 which rapidly segued into all the adult responsibilities of not only living independently, but with an undoubted element of care-taking. And the responsibility loaded on her just increased over time and so fast, when did she ever have time to stop and realise the monster truck was in the nightlife was bearing right down on her?
At least she seems to be having age-appropriate fun with Dana and they are equals. Their attitude towards animals horrifies me (all of them) but this sentimental benign neglect is endemic in our societies. My cats have all been rescues and I always have adults because there are still so many people who throw away animals once past the cute and fluffy stage. All of them display the same shallow anthropomorphisation of animals, rather than the responsible, adult love that recognises and respects that they are animals. I guess Destiny can be taught but AL refuses to even recognise she's not the perfect mummy to her "fur babies" (barf.)
But at least Destiny seems capable of forming proper, lasting bonds with other people. Everything about Lumber is transient, including her attachments. And I have no doubt she did, and is still, guilting Destiny like a pro.
No shade taken. I should have thought about this but if I hadn't known I'd be very grateful you told me. None of them look after pets even adequately, let alone well.
