Basically. AL is covering a lot of bases of a cluster b personality disorder. They overlap so much. The thing that keeps me from thinking she is pure BPD is I don't think she would self-harm. Borderline is the most studied of these disorders, so it's easy to place her there.
Studies show cluster b disorders (esp narcs) fuck with therapists that are not equipped to deal with such disorders. Possibly why it never helped AL. If you read her old FB entries (when she was first talking to Krystle) she was an absolute shit. Nevertheless, wherever AL falls on the spectrum, she is severely disordered to the point she probably won't ever "get better".
the over eating is self harm and you have to have like 5 or 6 of the symptoms. It is absolutely a myth that every person with bpd cuts, though. It's extremely common but it's not what makes the diagnosis.

When did she get this cat and what happened to it?

Just a guess, but maybe Wasabi? Dunno if he was always,Wasabi...

@Octomet Soz, posts crossed.

What was the agenda? That's from before i heard of her, so I hope its not a dumb question.

Also, he is TINY. Anyone know where she got him? Reputable breeders/shelters never let kittens go that young.

She got him at a pet store. She changed his name to wasabi because she's "always wanted her own kitten named wasabi and now she has him"

Yes, over eating is self harm. It's possible for any cluster b to have an eating disorder. And the cutting thing is sometimes seen, not always. I know this is my own opinion, but I see her as a self serving attention whore narc who would threaten suicide for that reason and would never, ever intend killing herself. That's why I think Ol' Becks was supremely stupid to rush in so that hamplanet wouldn't kill herself....She never intentionally will..except with food.

Narcissism is so rare, though. Also, the DSM is changing all of the time. In a few decades personality disorders could very well be a thing of a past or studies around them can be heavily changed. However, if there's any personality disorder that fits Hamber it's borderline. She's much more driven by being impossible, black and white thinking, and abandonment issues which are the true core of the disorder, not self harm or even suicide attempts.

I think she thinks she's above threatening suicide, and I don't see that as something to cross her mind just because she'd never have the will to go through with it. I also think she's deluded herself into believing she's going to change when it suits her, but fear of responsibility is going to keep her away from positive life changes possibly forever if she won't stop lying to herself.

I don't know anything about personality disorders, but to me it's understandable (although not excusable) how a girl in a disordered family and who ends up in foster homes might not develop their own personality. Survival might depend on them behaving however the family wants, so she ends up a chameleon without her own personality.

There is definitely an obvious difference at each of her phases depending on whom she's with.

Those askFM questions/answers are utterly ridiculous. This girl loves the sound of her own voice, but never says anything interesting.

That vampire paragraph was embarrassingly bad though. She doesn't know the basics-what words mean or how to put together a sentence, much less come up with something not dumb and cliched. I'd love to enter that in the yearly bad writing contest, but I don't think you can take others' work.

People actually sit down and try to write something as bad as what Amber does naturally.

Hold on a minute. Didn't she say on Askfm that he was neutered when she got him? I'm not a cat person but isn't he a little young here to already have that done? Truly, please educate me on this. :powerlevel: With my dogs, my vet recommended waiting until their balls at least dropped before removing them. I may be thrown with the size difference between this cat and them as puppies.

I want to say a cat is supposed to be 6 months before spaying or neutering. It makes me so angry that this monster of a human won't go get this done for her cat. There is literally no excuse.

:powerlevel: I'm in the process of helping catch, fix and release a shitload of feral cats :powerlevel: and the organization I'm using will spay cats as young as eight weeks. There are a lot of conflicting opinions on when to neuter/spay a pet, even among vets. Some will insist on waiting until six months, but most rescue orgs/humane societies will make sure every cat or dog they put up for adoption is fixed as young as eight weeks. Amberlynn's vet suggested six months for Rarity... which was a few months back, I think.

:powerlevel:Doubling up on this. I work at a gold standard vet and ideally we wait 4 to 6 months because research states that they should be fully mature and developed by that stage. HOWEVER you are right in saying that shelters will desex as young as 8 weeks because of the influx of cats vs. the number of people adopting them. People want kittens but they don't want the responsibility of desexing them.

A pet store though? I highly doubt they would front the cost of desexing an animal. It would cost more than the price of selling the cat, and animal welfare is not the primary concern of a pet store. The only case I could see this as a possibility for would be a breeder who doesn't want someone to breed from their line of cats, which is obviously not the case.

Sorry for PL!!

I know some pet stores (Petsmart, possibly others) have cats/kittens for adoptions but the adoptions are handled by a shelter or rescue organization that has some kind of contract with the store. All of the cats were rescued, and iirc adoptions included the price of spaying/neutering.
