Most vets worth a grain of salt require a wellness exam before doing any kind of surgery on an animal, even simple neuters. Also, most require a rabies vaccination a week out, usually done at wellness exam. Have either of these happened for that poor cat? Maybe the 26th is just the first visit?

Just goes to show how little she understands about calories/eating healthy/anything related to weight loss. It's pretty damn difficult to eat low cal at most restaurants, especially the chain ones she hits up. Even the salads are usually at least 2/3s of the daily caloric allotment you generally want to shoot for if you're losing weight. And let's be real, we all know she's not opting for the salads.

Several months ago someone, either on Twitter or the YT comments, wrote about reversing her Type II diabetes with diet and exercise. Amber responded something to the effect of "Glad to hear diabetes is easily reversible!" I am quite sure she doesn't know the horrors that await her.

I don’t understand how she can have absolutely zero structure in her life and be completely fine. Going to school and going to work and feeling like I actually have a purpose in society is the only thing keeping me sane.

I can’t imagine someone can be so happy just being lazy doing the same five things every day: wake up in the middle of the day, go to Walmart, go out to eat, play board/card/video games (is Mario Kart and Mario Party 7 the only games they have or something?), and sit in bed. How do you not get bored? How does your depresshun not get worse?

:powerlevel: As someone who temporarily lived a life very similar to AL's (I was recovering from major surgery), it's an incredibly boring life to live and I have no doubt she's depressed and/or very unsatisfied with her life deep down. She doesn't have a 'goal' she's working toward or any real sense of a place in society. She's just existing.

An exam is generally required unless the animal has recently been in the clinic, however cats are tricky because they get stressed easily so a vet may bend this rule and examine it prior to spaying or neutering. Spays and neuters are so routine that a full work up really isn't necessary as long as the animal doesn't have any known issues, appears to be in good health and is the appropriate age. Vaccinations can typically be given after surgery while the animal is sedated.
