You say "elective" as if a 600 pound woman with sleep apnea walked into a surgeon's office with 40 grand and said "light me up, doc!" And they did. You cannot be serious.

Surely you cannot think surgery requiring general anesthesia on a 600 pound woman with sleep apnea is something any surgeon would perform unless it was deemed to be necessary and ultimately life saving.

I'm not sure how it works in the US, but in the socialist haven of Australia you can go into a private hospital for elective surgery and be on the table pretty much right away (provided the diagnosis supports it). If you go through the public hospital system, you go on a waiting list for elective surgery, but the amount you wait is based on the severity of the disease. If someone is full of cancer, they are going to be given priority over someone who needs a relatively minor illness.

Personally, I think Amber needed surgery and got the surgery done, and if you throw money at doctors they are more than happy to make time on their calender for you.

Like @mythical mother, we'll just agree to disagree. She pimped out her medical stuff for coin, and is so worried about her "cancer" that she does nothing - not a single damn thing - to verify that it was addressed solely by surgery? She skeered of every goddamned thing in the world, but the "cancer" apparently doesn't scare her enough that she's not at all stressed out about it and never mentions it any longer? This is actually what really convinces me.

My sister - who is super morbidly obese - also had endometrial cancer, the same as Amber. As someone else said, it is a cancer that is absolutely rampant in the obese community. My sister got a full hysterectomy with some pelvic lymph node removal (to test for spread) and because of the staging of her cancer (also stage 1, lymph nodes were clear) she also did not receive ANY imaging or follow-up treatments. She was told at that stage with no lymph involvement, the surgery is in fact completely curative by itself.

I think Amber is a silly and ignorant woman, but she didn't fake this cancer. Her treatment was par for the course for endometrial cancer.

Editing to add that pap smears have precisely zilch to do with the endometrium in the uterus. Pap smears are to check for changes in the cells of the cervix specifically and nothing else. It is extremely common that people lump "pap smears" with "pelvic exam" or other exams to check reproductive organs, since it's usually all done at the same time. The pap smear part of an exam is specifically the little q-tip to rub some cells off of the cervix and check specifically for cell changes that could indicate *cervical* cancer only. Cervical cancer doesn't even spread into the endometrium or vice versa.

The pathology from the hysterectomy showed stage 1b cancer.

One thing I know from working with medical professionals, whether private or public health care, is that they do not do surgery, such as this one, without pretty conclusive medical proof. She had her uterus and ovaries removed, which is serious for a 29-year-old woman. The legal risk of doing surgery like this without cause might lead to massive lawsuits and gross negligence. The staging will tell what course of action would be needed, whether doing surgery, chemotherapy or both. In her case, only periodic follow-ups seem to be required.

Amber would not be able to lie her way through this one. It is one thing to lie to "the girl" to get medication for anxiety, it is another one to fake pathology results.

The fact that Amber was 500 pounds at the time of diagnosis reduced the level of assessment that could be done on her. She did not fit on an MRI and PET. In a normal individual, they might have been able to save her ovaries after a more comprehensive workup, but not with Amber.

She does not mention it anymore because Amber is always in the "now". The surgery is old history, except when she reminds us that she always wanted to have a child and she blamed the doctors for it.

I think about this sometimes, yet I don't feel even the tiniest amount of pity for Amber.
She literally has information of how to lose weight right at her fingertips but continues to shovel the food in while just sitting around all day.
She has admitted that she attacks anyone that tries to help her stop eating so much.
She likes the way she looks, and I guess she's okay with paying the price for that appearance with her health and comfort.

Luckily for anyone thinking of dating her, a quick Google search will tell them a great many things about Miss #Amberlynn Reid. There's no excuse for anyone getting involved with her to not know that they'll be getting.

She lies and "precancerous cells" is a big very official medical word and could have scared her fat addled idiot brain into thinking she had full blown cancer. Sympathy, $$$ and taking Becky's attention away from her dying mom are also factors to be considered as perviously mentioned above.

Probably the same place she sleeps at home, sitting up on the couch. She said last week they spent a few days with Becky's family. Funny how she would never do that before, but now that Becky broke up with her she has to go everywhere she goes.
