Among Us is blowing up. Blame fascism - "It's 'consensual non-consent,' minus the sex."

TBF, I imagine that the idea of people infiltrating a normal operation, sabotaging things, throwing innocent hard workers out the window until everything collapses struck a little close to home? :3c

Seriously though. I get that everyone hates when some game gets obnoxiously popular, but this is the worst way to handle it.

Edit:
Multiplayer games about asymmetrical survival (that is, one player hunting another) have always excited me, partially because they’re power fantasies about preying on and removing whoever I choose.

Okay, no, there is DEFINITELY something here.

This game is the best replacement for Town of Salem I could ask for. That game went to shit after the Coven DLC that virtually no-one plays.

Since we don't have a thread for Among Us, I just want to say it's amazing (though not surprising) how Fall Guys was popular for less than a month before being replaced with this game.
A month? More like a couple weeks. No kidding, by the time I figured out what Fall Guys even was, Among Us had already stole its spot in the limelight. Even by meme streamer bait standards it dropped like a fucking rock on Jupiter.

It makes sense because Fall Guys has no variety or interesting interactions. You can only look at retards fucking up on the seesaw twice before it gets old.

Funny thing is, Among Us was going around streamer circles since 8 months ago, well before Fall Guys. It just suddenly rose up for no apparent reasons. And I believe that there was no sponsorship campaign for that (I didn't at least encounter any sponsored streams). Also it's amusing that Enemy on Board has been buying sponsored streams for like a year and hasn't gotten as much traction.

The biggest co-growth factor is the Henry Stickmin Collection, which was a dramatic finale to one of the dev's earliest game series and will be seen by many as Flash's swansong. It's also the one of the most streamlined, fast, lively, and customizable mafia-esque games available.

This went from what sounds like your typical survival game to fetishes. What's next? Using Path of Exile to talk about findom?

Give me exalts, paypig
