You're not examining pieces of bones (3-dimensional structures); you're examining photographs of pieces of bones. And you don't even take measurements.

If it's a biological concept you can use ncbi. A lot of journals are actually free. Also, Hi I'm a published biologist and I can tell you that yes, if you're just examining with your eyes it's very difficult to tell significance of scientific experiments due to confounding factors along with mathematical significance. You can sometimes tell about how results will regress when expressed mathematically but you still have to analyze the significance of it.
