I would say it's the same old far right delusion, that with like 100 dudes they can have any effect if they do public outrage demonstrations. I’ve read DS every day for years. It all started with one of his “illness revelations” articles after he was sick, where he stated, jokingly, “I think I have a brain tumor.” From there he just ran with it. But it was obvious at first mention that it was tongue-in-cheek.

I think the main thing they wanted to do there is to have a shootout between antifa and the protestors. The police pushed the two groups together. Unless you want fights to break out, you don't do that. And both sides had rifles as far as I know, so it could have escalated into something worse.

I think the local government and law enforcement allowed C-Ville to happen for political gain. Years ago on Discord I spoke to someone who went to it and they told me the mayor had tons of intel that things were going to get violent but refused to deploy the necessary amount of police needed to keep things between the right-wing guys and antifa separated.

Propaganda is not always supposed to convince you of anything, sometimes it is there to confuse or alienate you. Many times the absurdity seems to be by design, to filter out people who would prefer objective reality over loyalty and comfort.
