For two reasons. The first being that his content is almost completely located in video form, many people don't read and write with a modicum of sophistication even in their native languages and video makes it more accessible, not to mention how he presents himself as a model of the male fantasy of power, with cigars, women, luxury cars and the like being plastered everywhere. And the second is that he spams his content everywhere through his indirect network of young men fooled by his false promises!

In fact, his audience is the key: It's almost exclusively composed of young men who don't have a real reference of masculinity and feel lost in this World of ours on the present day. As some people said before, he mixes unhinged horseshit with proven wisdom in his content. It's by design, this guy is an asshole and shouldn't have a single percent of the audience he has, but he learned how to use the structure of these virtual networks against themselves. His stuff is/was everywhere in YouTube, and he doesn't even have an account there!

Honestly, it's sad. He teaches young men how to act like assholes, not how to improve themselves. No, you've completely misread me, which is impressive since I only wrote 2 lines. My point is that Tate preaches material wealth an an ends unto itself.

Contrasted with the philosophers that @Lieutenant Rasczak mentioned. Aristotle defines virtue as a "Golden Mean", avoiding extremes of excess or deficiency, such as poverty and greed. Aurelius was a Stoic, Stoicism treats wealth as a "preferred indifferent" which is to say it may be helpful but it's not inherently good. This is not because either of them were poor. Aurelius was a Roman emperor, Aristotle was an influential figure who tutored Alexander the Great.

Now, contrast this with Tate. Whatever other principles he claims to follow, it is indisputable that most of his message focuses on money alone. He sells all of his programs on the promise that it will teach you how to make money. His definition of a "good life" involves spending on luxury items. Not only that, he admonishes the idea of being content with less.

His conversion to Islam was well orchestrated. I don't know if he went to Dubai with that intention to begin with or if it was just a case of killing two birds with one stone. He had organised a speaking event for the middle of October, but it was cancelled. I heard somewhere that this was due to complaints, but I cannot confirm it.
