My father was a soldier during Desert Storm, then a Drill Sergeant when he went into the Guard. Thing is, he knew exactly how to motivate and discipline me without resorting to screaming and shouting or spankings, while also taking the time after things had calmed down to explain how I fucked up, why it was wrong, and why he disciplined me a certain way. Or why you do a specific task, and why you do it a certain way.

His motto was "I'm not raising a boy, I'm raising a man, he just so happens to be a boy right now". He preferred to let me fall and scrape my knee, then teach me how to put my own band-aid on and how to not fall again. Too many parents these days want to prevent their kids from ever falling in the first place, so they don't know why falling is bad, and how to fix themselves to get back up again.

Funniest thing is, my dad never knew his dad, he was raised by his mom and grandma. So Tate and other idiots like him, in my book, they have no excuse.

Maybe to a certain extent, you can blame society, but then there's the point where you have to take responsibility for yourself and your actions, and understand that you're only important to you, and you need to ensure your own survival. My father is similar, air force, built barracks, not very glamorous, but he certainly wasn't "Chair Force". Served for thirty years, saw the Wall fall, stationed in germany at the time. Took a tour in Desert Storm, retired, got bored, still working, now as a plumber. He's a old man now, a bit cranky, but he can still woop my ass.

The philosophy you listed is how he taught me. When my mom went mental and left, he got tough with me. He made sure I didn't turn into a sperg. A lot of tough love. And that's why I love him. I'm able to see men like Tate for what they are; insecure, weak. Never had a real struggle. Daddy never kicked his ass. Which let me tell you, was a life changing experience. A good one.

I stand by the fact that not having a dad doesn't automatically make you a retard, and claiming it does is a terrible excuse that it's incredibly insulting, and makes men look really pathetic, and stupid. Not that fatherless men aren't an issue. They certainly are. I just hate the way the whole thing's being framed here.

It's really fucking weird, and not only makes it seem like men are just naturally spineless, gullible idiots who can't think on their own, in a way it's also misogynistic because it implies no matter how good the mom is, her son's always gonna be a fuck up because he doesn't have a dad. All her hard work, and love is for nothing, and that's really, really fucked up, and just not true.

That, and the fact that all this basically says all you needed was specifically a big, strong Daddy to teach you the basics of right from wrong makes you look really fucking dumb, weak, and honestly kinda gay.

that's literally what children are, yes: gullible idiots who can't think on their own. getting them out of that state is called raising them and it's what they need parents for - fathers specifically because women are generally oblivious and ignorant of the value of things such as strength, assertiveness, honor, respect, self-reliance, etc, and their importance in a mans life

My God, this IS "nightmare shit". You really think that 13 year old boy is capable of understanding everything that's happened to him? Also, FYI, that 30 year old pedophile rapist can sue him for child support the DAY he turns 18.
Not only was his innocence taken from him, but from the moment he turns 18, until that rape baby is at least 18 itself, his life belongs to his rapist and rapespawn. Meaning at a minimum, he will be 31 when his life can finally belong to him again. Even then, he will forever live with the mental damage of being raped AND made into a father at 13, and the fact he has a kid he didn't want or was remotely ready for.

Being fatherless gives you an uphill battle, sure, but its not insurmountable to take someone with a fatherless upbringjng and turn it around. Growing up without a father figure is not an automatic fail-state.

I used to work with a 15yo fatherless wigger at a woodshop who would listen to negro beats and always be on his phone. I bullied him about it until he wanted to throw hands, I laughed it off and told him to do it and, in that moment, all the pseudo masculinity in the bix nood mubbajubba music he grew up with was all noise. He didnt do shit. He came back the next day ready to work, we taught him what we knew, both about woodworking and life. He stopped slurring his speech, he gradually changed his outfit to normal clothes, and he's still practicing his trade to this day.

Ultimately, I believe that men are the sole arbiters of law and order, so its up to men and only men to be responsible for their decisions and actions. A man who blames his situation in life - at its core - on anything other than himself is merely avoiding responsibility, which is very feminine and gay. That kid took a look at his life, and decided to come into work with a better attitude. Categorizing these men as "fatherless" is the correct frame, because if they dont know what theyre missing, they wont know what to search for.

One thing I can say with reasonable confidence is that his explanation is bullshit. It is impossible it is a scar. The original contrast enhanced CT left only two possibilities, hamartoma or carcinoid tumor. Reading the pathology report created by the Romanian pathology lab, which did a biopsy and a bronchial content aspiration, it is a hamartoma. It is not scar tissue, the composition is completely wrong for a scar of any kind. It has some immune cells, some superficial squamous cells, some atypical desquamated bronchial cells, and some atypical reactive cellular types. They didn't see any cells that appeared to be cancerous or the cells demonstrating malignant transformation at this time. All strongly indicative of a hamartoma. Overall he doesn't have much to worry about, if it is self-limiting. If it stops growing, he can just leave it there. However, it is the type of tumor that can undergo malignant transformation, although it is unusual. If this happens the benign mass will morph into an aggressive cancer. It is also possible that it is the type of hamartoma that falls into the nebulous middle-ground between benign, self-limiting tumors and neoplasms. These are known as "space-filling lesions", they are tumors with no metastatic or invasive potential, but they just keep growing without stopping. If this happens it will keep growing and crushing lung tissue until it grows so big it starts to impinge on the main bronchi, and if one doesn't remove it at that point, they will likely eventually suffocate.

A simple cellular biopsy can't really define whether it is a benign growth or a space-filling lesion since the tumor may be heterogenous. The only thing once can do is do a CT every 6 months or so for a year and see if it changes size or shape. If it doesn't, it's self-limiting and benign. If it grows a detectable amount, it's a space-filling lesion. With a years worth of growth data the growth rate can be easily calculated and they can give you a rough idea of how long it will take before it becomes a problem. However, that is no guarantee it won't be an issue before then. Space-filling lesions can always end up eroding a major blood vessel and suddenly you are coughing up large volumes of blood, etc... and that would be a medial emergency and a reason for resection.

As bad as Romania is, I think it's safe to say they'll keep him alive long enough to make it to trial. They aren't that ghetto. And they've wanted him for a long time.

Of this I have no doubt. Even if it is a space-filling lesion, hamartomas are slow growing in general. It would likely be years and years before it would be a true risk. By then he will have the joy of experiencing Romanian prison medicine. I'm sure its excellent.
