There was more than one case and from my understanding they were planning to roll it into a single case. The last update about the case was that 4 statements from victims needed to be readdressed and resubmitted and at that point it was theorized that when DIICOT came back to the court they would charge everything under a single case. The difference between what Obama can do, and what Tate might do; is that not only does Obama say the right things, but also that he is an insider. Tate on the other hand is neither an insider, or says the right things. In fact, he says the direct opposite. If Tate is "in" with the current admin, he clearly was not with the last one. When Obama does shady shit, he gets away with it for the aforementioned reasons. When someone who isn't an insider says anything critical of the regime (especially in Europe) they go to prison. All the last admin and allies had to do was find any dirt on Tate to get him thrown in prison, or better yet manufacture it during that two year window between the house raid and now. Or get him deported to a shithole like the UK, where his words would have been enough to put him in a box. That hasn't happened, because either there was no dirt, or they couldn't manufacture some. That leads to three possibilities: Either A) Romania (and the people who want Tate in prison) are colossal fuckups that couldn't find their way out of a paper bag, B) Tate is a mastermind who outwitted them, C) some combination of A & B, or D) nothing Tate was doing was illegal. Which of those four is most likely? I'd say option D.
