If this results in a Skynet scenario, I kind of hope all traces of humanity get wiped out instead of aliens finding out we were killed by someone like Andrew Torba.
Honestly, I think Torba might like that since he has a lot of people he hates that he feels is standing in the way of his “Christ is King” parallel economy utopia.

Oh man, I can't wait for this to end up like their foray into Mastodon. To recap, their implementation was so rubbish that Eugen Rochko had to publicly point out that all the vulnerabilities that Gab experienced post-Mastodon adoption were their own doing. I wonder what open-source project he'll co-opt and implement half-assedly this time. He's already done it with Brave (Dissenter) and forking Mastodon. What's next, Stable Diffusion or whatever the open-source equivalent of ChatGPT is?

Why The Worldview of The People Building AI Matters

MARCH 3, 2023
As I wrote in my last post, I believe it is absolutely essential that people understand who is building AI and what their worldviews and values are because they will inevitably and unavoidably be reflected in the AI’s programming. Worldview matters because worldview is going to shape the development of the most important and powerful technology since the invention of the printing press, AI. I’d like to make a clear distinction between what our worldview is here at Gab and contrast it with the worldview of those in Silicon Valley.

Our enemies are not bright, cunning, or tough. They are theatre kids and effeminate midwit dorks. Like a house of cards, they will easily fall over under the slightest bit of resistance and pressure. They also hate God and humanity itself, which is why I believe our victory is inevitable.

The worldview of those in Silicon Valley who are building AI is a sick and twisted one that likens human beings to mere cattle, destined to be corralled by those who wield power and force.

Take Sam Altman, for example, the CEO of Open AI, who recently tweeted the following:
language models just being programmed to try to predict the next word is true, but it’s not the dunk some people think it is. animals, including us, are just programmed to try to survive and reproduce, and yet amazingly complex and beautiful stuff comes from it.
This is a prototypical secular humanist view of humanity: “you’re just an animal, a biological computer, a clump of cells.” It’s the same argument abortionists endorse in the “pro-choice” movement, and it’s an argument that falls flat on its face when contrasted with how God reveals to us His view on humanity in His Word.

The amazingly complex and beautiful “stuff” that comes from humanity comes directly from God precisely because we were made in His image. The idea of being made in the image of God is first introduced in the book of Genesis, which describes how God created Adam and Eve in his own image.

In Genesis 1:26-27, we read: “Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’ So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”

To be made in the image of God means that we share something of His nature and character. It means that we have the capacity for reason, creativity, and moral discernment. This is what makes human beings unique from being mere animals. It also means that we have a special relationship with God, one that is based on a shared identity and purpose.
The idea of being made in the image of God is not limited to the creation of Adam and Eve. Throughout the Bible, we see examples of people who reflect God’s image in their words and actions. For example, in the book of Exodus, Moses is described as having spoken with God face to face, and his face was said to have shone with the glory of God (Exodus 33:11-23). Similarly, in the New Testament, Jesus is described as the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15), and his followers are called to be conformed to his likeness (Romans 8:29).

The concept of being made in the image of God has important implications for how we understand ourselves and others. It means that every human being, regardless of their race, gender, or social status, has inherent value and dignity. It also means that we have a responsibility to treat others with respect and compassion, recognizing that they, too, are made in the image of God.

At the same time, the concept of being made in the image of God is a reminder of our limitations and our need for God’s grace. While we share something of God’s nature, we are not God ourselves, and we are prone to sin and error. Our capacity for reason and creativity can be used for good or evil, and our moral discernment is often clouded by our own biases and prejudices.

At the core of the secular humanist worldview is the belief that individuals should be free to pursue their own happiness and fulfillment as long as they do not harm others in the process.

Secular humanists reject the idea that human beings are inherently flawed or sinful, as the Bible clearly reveals to us. Instead, they view human beings as capable of making positive contributions to society; and believe that individuals have the ability to improve themselves and the world around them through reason, education, and action. This is why we see the rise of things in our society that are tearing the moral fabric of the Western world. Things like drag queens stripping for children, men competing in women’s sports, and the normalization of baby murder in the womb, to name a few. With a worldview that has no moral ground to stand on and views everyone as mere animals, anything becomes possible.
Additionally, secular humanists tend to reject the notion that humans have a special place in the natural world or that they are somehow separate from or superior to other animals. Instead, they view humans as part of the natural world, subject to the same physical and biological laws as other living creatures.

Christian theology offers a distinct response to the secular humanist worldview, particularly in its views on the nature and value of humanity. According to the Bible, humans are not merely the result of biological and social processes but are endowed with a spiritual aspect that reflects their divine origin. This divine aspect of humanity imbues every individual with intrinsic value and is the basis for human rights and the dignity of all human life.

Christianity emphasizes the fallen nature of humanity and the need for redemption. While humans are created in God’s image, they are also capable of sin and evil. According to God’s Word, humans are not capable of achieving salvation on their own but require divine intervention through faith in Jesus Christ. This recognition of human sinfulness and the need for redemption is seen as a fundamental aspect of Christian belief and a response to the limitations and imperfections of human nature.

Christianity offers a unique view of the purpose and meaning of human existence. While secular humanism emphasizes individual autonomy and the pursuit of personal fulfillment, Christian theology holds that the ultimate purpose of human life is to know, love, and serve God. Humans are not simply self-contained individuals but are part of a larger community of believers who share a common purpose and mission. This emphasis on community and service is an important response to the individualism and self-centeredness of secular humanism.

Humans were “programmed” to worship, serve, and glorify God. Instead, many of us willingly choose to enslave ourselves to sin and desire by acting as beasts do. Reducing humanity to mere primal and biological tendencies is both intellectually lazy and spiritually empty. Sam and other secular humanists place you and me in the category of “animal” because they believe that they are the superior animal and are therefore entitled to have dominion over all of us.
This view is a grotesque perversion of God’s Word remade in their own image, as the Devil always does. The reality is we are all children of God, not mere animals reduced to the biological impulse to survive and reproduce. On this Truth, we must stand.

On this firm ground of God’s revealed Truth, Gab is building Based AI.

Christians Must Learn To Hate Again

APRIL 1, 2023
As Christians we are called to stand firm in our faith even in the midst of turmoil and chaos of the world around us. Recent news of the horrific massacre of six Christians including three young children in Nashville, the news of President Trump’s sham indictment, and the conviction of Douglas Mackey may be discouraging and disheartening, but in these moments we must remember that our hope and our strength come from a higher power.

This week was a difficult week for me both as a Christian and as a father of young children. I looked everywhere for a response from so-called “Christian leaders” and at best I found silence while at worst I found those supporting the “trans community” instead of our own brothers and sisters in Christ.

Christians are called to respond to tragedy with compassion, empathy, and love, but what happens when that tragedy is being celebrated by the mainstream media, the culture, our own government, and perhaps even some of our churches, friends, and family?

When trans flags are being risen at schools, organizations, businesses, and even government buildings across our nation just days after a member of that community carried out a horrific injustice against a Christian community—ending the lives of six of our brothers and sisters in Christ—how are we to respond?

As my good friend Pastor Andrew Isker wrote this week, being winsome and nice won’t cut it anymore.
Cowardly Christian “leaders” may be silent on these issues, but God’s Word is not–and I refuse to be. The first thing we must remember is that our hope and strength come from God. We must turn to Him in prayer and seek His guidance as we navigate these difficult situations.

As the Bible says in Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

In addition to prayer we must also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:44, “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” Even when the media, businesses, schools, and the government seem to be celebrating a senseless tragedy, we must respond with love and compassion, not hatred or anger.

We must also take action to address the injustice that is being celebrated by the wicked. This may mean speaking out against the mainstream narrative, supporting organizations that are working to bring about change, or even taking part in peaceful protests or demonstrations. When we do these things it’s crucial that our actions are rooted in love and compassion, not in anger or violence. We must be bold and share the Gospel, speak the Truth, and let go of our fear.

We must remember that we are not alone in our struggle. This is what our enemies want us to desperately believe: that we have no one standing up on behalf of the victims and on behalf of God’s Word. Nothing could be further from the truth. As members of the body of Christ we are part of a larger community of believers who can support and encourage us. By staying connected to other believers, we can find strength and hope in times of struggle and persecution. I encourage you to do so not only in your local Church and community, but also with believers around the world on Gab and other online platforms. We need each other now more than ever.

Reject the Blackpill

It’s very easy to feel demoralized and blackpilled when we see the evil in the world around us. But as followers of Christ, we must hold fast to the truth that Christ is King. He has overcome the world, and in Him, we can find hope and strength to face whatever comes our way. Christians are commanded to love our neighbors as ourselves, to forgive those who wrong us, and to turn the other cheek. However, we are also called to hate evil with a righteous hatred while not giving in to despair or hopelessness.

The Bible tells us in Psalm 97:10, “Let those who love the Lord hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.” But what does it mean to hate evil? Does it mean that we should hate the people who commit evil acts? Absolutely not. As Christians, we are called to love all people, even those who do wrong. When we are commanded to hate evil we are being called to hate the things that are contrary to God’s will and God’s character. We are called to hate sin and all that it represents – destruction, death, and separation from God.

We Are Commanded To Hate Evil

Many people in our culture, and even some Christian leaders, promote a hippie version of love that emphasizes tolerance and acceptance at all costs. They believe that love means accepting everyone and everything, no matter how evil or wicked it may be. However, this view is not biblical, and it does not reflect the true nature of God. The fear of the Lord is a healthy respect and reverence for God, and it leads us to hate what He hates.

God is often portrayed in our culture as being fully focused on love and grace, but the Bible teaches us that there are indeed things that God hates. While this might be a difficult concept for some to grasp, it is important to understand that God’s hatred is not arbitrary or capricious. His hatred is based on His perfect nature and His desire for us to live according to His will.
While God loves us unconditionally, He hates the sin that separates us from Him. Sin is anything that goes against God’s will, and it is something that we should strive to avoid. When we sin, we are rebelling against God and His plan for our lives. As Christians, we should strive to avoid the things that God hates and to live lives that are pleasing to Him. We should seek to love what God loves and hate what God hates, and in doing so, we will be living in obedience to His will.

Proverbs 8:13 – “To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.”

Romans 12:9 – “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.”

Psalm 101:3 – “I will not look with approval on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it.”

Amos 5:15 – “Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the Lord God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph.”

Proverbs 13:5 – “The righteous hate what is false, but the wicked make themselves a stench and bring shame on themselves.”

Psalm 119:104 – “I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.”

When we hate evil we are not allowing it to have a foothold in our lives. We are not tolerating it or excusing it, but instead, we are actively fighting against it. We are standing up for what is right and what is just, even when it is difficult. When we hate evil we are acknowledging the reality of the brokenness of our world. We recognize that sin and evil do exist and that they cause pain and suffering. But we also know that God has overcome sin and evil through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We should look to the example of Jesus Himself, who drove out the money changers from the temple with a whip (John 2:15). He did not tolerate their wickedness and corruption but took action to remove it from the house of God.
By hating evil, we are living out our faith in a tangible way. We are demonstrating our commitment to God’s values and His character. We are standing up for justice, compassion, and righteousness in a world that is often marked by selfishness, greed, and violence.

Now is the time for Christians to not only start hating evil again, but actively waging spiritual warfare against it.

We need to focus on building up our communities, praying for one another, and growing together in faith. We must not let the news of the day distract us from the work that God has called us to do. We are called to be a light in the darkness, to love our neighbors as ourselves, and to spread the good news of the gospel to all nations. That is our mission and we must not take our eyes off the prize of eternal glory with our King.

Ultimately we can take comfort in the fact that we can and will overcome because Christ has already overcome. As the Bible says in 1 John 4:4, “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” No matter what happens in the world around us, we can have confidence that God is with us, and that He will see us through to victory.

Let us not be demoralized or blackpilled by the news of the day. Instead let us focus on Christ and His Kingdom, and let us continue to build, pray, and grow in our faith together.
By the grace of God, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the Victory of Jesus Christ our King we too shall overcome and see victory.
God bless you. Keep the faith.

It’s Time To Burn The Ships Of Traditional Media

APRIL 24, 2023
In 1519, the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés arrived in the New World with a mission to conquer the Aztec Empire. He arrived with a small army of 600 men, but he faced a significant challenge. His men were afraid and they were not sure that they could succeed in their mission. To inspire his men Cortés did something radical – he burned his ships. By doing so he eliminated any possibility of retreat and forced his men to fight for victory or death. This act of burning the ships became a symbol of determination and commitment.

Fast forward to today and we face a similar challenge. We are in a battle for the truth and we are facing a media landscape dominated by a small group of powerful corporations. Traditional media is owned by an oligopoly regime that runs the United States. They control what we see, what we hear, and even what we think. They have their own agenda and it is not at all in our best interest.

Today the news broke that Tucker Carlson, one of the most prominent voices on Fox News, is leaving the network. Regardless of the reasons, his departure from Fox News is significant, and it could be seen as a death knell for traditional media.

Traditional media, including cable news networks like Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC, has long been the dominant source of news and information for many Americans. These networks have enormous influence, and they shape the way people think about current events and politics.

Over the past decade there has been a dramatic shift away from traditional media and toward alternative sources of information.

One of the reasons for this shift is the rise of the internet and social media. These platforms have given people access to a vast array of information and have allowed them to connect with others who share their interests and beliefs. This has created a new media landscape, one that is more decentralized and less reliant on traditional media outlets. Those in power quickly realized this after the 2016 election which is why they have invested billions of dollars and countless human resource hours into developing censorship and “fact checking” systems on these platforms.

That’s why we created Gab.com in 2016. We saw this happening and we knew we had to protect free speech online for all people at all costs. We paid the price heavily for it precisely because Gab is the one place that the people in power do not control.

Another reason for the shift away from traditional media is a growing sense of distrust. Many Americans feel that the mainstream media is biased and that they cannot be trusted to provide unbiased information. This distrust has only grown in recent years, as traditional media outlets have become increasingly politicized and polarized.

The departure of Tucker Carlson from Fox News is significant because he was one of the network’s most popular and influential hosts. He had a large following, and his show was consistently one of the highest-rated programs on cable news. His departure is a sign that even the most established and influential media outlets are not immune to the changing media landscape.

While traditional media is not dead yet, the departure of Tucker Carlson from Fox News is a clear signal that it is on the decline. The rise of alternative media sources and the growing sense of distrust in traditional media outlets have created a new media landscape that is more diverse and decentralized. This new media landscape is not without its challenges, as Gab knows all too well—but it offers opportunities for new voices and perspectives to be heard.

Burning the ships of traditional media means that we must abandon the old ways of consuming news and information. We must stop watching the same news channels, reading the same newspapers, and listening to the same radio stations. We must break away from the status quo and embrace a new way of thinking.

We must also turn off traditional media for good. We must stop supporting the oligopoly regime that controls our media landscape. We must stop giving them our attention, our money, and our trust. We must turn to new media platforms like Gab and others as well as independent journalism, and we must support them with our time, our money, and our trust.
Turning off traditional media for good does not mean that we should ignore the news altogether. It means that we should seek out alternative sources of information and take an active role in seeking the truth. We should read independent blogs, watch independent news channels, use independent platforms, and listen to independent podcasts. We should engage in discussions, share our views, and challenge our own biases.

Burning the ships of traditional media and turning it off for good is not an easy task. It requires courage, determination, and a willingness to challenge the status quo. However, it is necessary if we want to create a media landscape that serves the interests of the people, not the oligopoly regime. We must embrace new media and independent journalism, and most importantly we must take an active role in seeking the truth.

By doing so, we can create a better future for ourselves and for generations to come.

Ron DeSantis Flies To Israel To Destroy Free Speech In Florida

APRIL 27, 2023
This week Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida made a trip to Israel to sign HB 269, a bill that makes it a felony with up to five years in jail for passing out “offensive” flyers or pamphlets. This move has been widely criticized by free speech advocates and legal experts as a gross violation of the First Amendment. The bill states that anyone distributing “any material for the purpose of intimidating or threatening the owner” could be convicted of a felony “hate crime.” While we often write about the “hate speech” rules on Big Tech platforms, this is far worse. This is the state of Florida violating the First Amendment of the United States.

The legislation came about after activists from a group called the Goyim Defense League made headlines for several years for their activism efforts. The Goyim Defense League’s activism takes the form of distributing flyers that contain “uncomfortable truths” about the individuals who control the mainstream media in the United States. These flyers have been handed out across multiple states, including Florida, and have been met with mixed reactions from the public.
Despite the controversy surrounding the flyers, it is worth noting that they contain no threats of violence or threatening language. Rather, they present what the Goyim Defense League sees as a reality about the individuals who control the mainstream media, and invite readers to consider a different perspective. While some might consider this information to be “offensive,” there is nothing inherently threatening or “intimidating” about the distribution of flyers with factual information on them. The flyers even have a statement on them noting that they are “distributed randomly without malicious intent.”

The First Amendment of the United States Constitution guarantees the right to freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly, and petition. This means that individuals have the right to express their opinions, even if those opinions are controversial or unpopular. The government cannot censor or punish individuals for their speech, unless it poses an imminent danger or threat to others.

HB 269, however, seeks to criminalize speech that is deemed “intimidating” by the state. This is an extremely vague and subjective standard, and it could be used to silence a wide range of speech that is protected by the First Amendment. It is important to note that the Supreme Court has repeatedly held that speech that some may find offensive is still protected under the First Amendment.

This isn’t the first time Ron DeSantis has signed anti-First Amendment legislation while in Israel. Governor Ron DeSantis signed HB 741, also known as the “Combating Public Disorder” bill, into law on May 14, 2019, in Jerusalem, Israel. The signing ceremony took place at the David Citadel Hotel, where DeSantis was joined by several prominent Jewish leaders and members of the Israeli government.

The bill aims to protect religious institutions and their members from discrimination and harassment. However, many have argued that it does much more than that, and that it represents a serious threat to free speech and civil liberties.
One of the main provisions of HB 741 is a requirement that all Florida public schools, colleges, and universities adopt a definition of anti-Semitism that includes certain forms of criticism of Israel. The definition in question is the one adopted by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, which defines anti-Semitism as “a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews” and includes examples such as “denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination” and “applying double standards to Israel.”

Critics of HB 741 argue that this definition is overly broad and could be used to stifle legitimate criticism of Israel and its policies. They point out that the definition includes language that could be interpreted as equating anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism, even though the two are not the same thing. They also argue that the definition is not necessary, as schools and universities already have policies in place to address discrimination and harassment.

Another provision of HB 741 requires law enforcement agencies to conduct training on identifying and responding to anti-Semitic incidents. Many have raised concerns that this provision could be used to target legitimate forms of protest and dissent. For example, if a group of pro-Palestinian activists were to stage a peaceful demonstration outside an Israeli consulate or embassy, could they be accused of engaging in an anti-Semitic incident?

Perhaps most controversially, HB 741 creates a private right of action for people who believe they have been discriminated against on the basis of their religion. This means that individuals who feel that they have been the victim of anti-Semitic discrimination can sue the alleged perpetrator for damages. This is highly likely to be used to stifle free speech and dissent. For example, a professor who expresses a controversial opinion about Israel could potentially be sued by a student who disagrees with them and feels that their religious beliefs have been discriminated against.

The fact that Governor DeSantis flew to a foreign country to sign both of these bills is absurd. Florida is a state in the United States, and its laws should be signed within the state’s borders. The reality that Gov. DeSantis chose to sign these bills in Israel, a foreign country, raises serious questions about his priorities and commitment to upholding the Constitution for the citizens of the United States and his state of Florida.

The implications of HB 269 and HB 741 are deeply troubling. They could be used to silence political dissent, punish those who criticize government officials, or suppress speech that challenges the status quo. In short, it is a direct attack on the First Amendment and the principles of free speech that are so essential to a healthy society.
We must be willing to engage in open dialogue with those who hold different views, and to stand up for our rights even when it is uncomfortable or unpopular to do so.

This means supporting organizations and individuals who are working to protect free speech, like Gab, and advocating for policies that promote openness and transparency in government. It also means being willing to speak out against efforts to silence dissent or suppress speech even when they come from our own political allies.
The defense of our fundamental rights is not a partisan issue. It is a matter of basic human dignity and freedom and it requires all of us to stand up and be counted. We must remain vigilant in the face of attempts to suppress speech and dissent, and be willing to push back against these efforts wherever they arise. Only by doing so can we ensure that America remains free for generations to come.

Voting with Your Purchasing Power: A Potent Weapon in the Culture War

MAY 24, 2023
In today’s clown world people are seeking effective means to express their beliefs and fight for causes they hold dear. While protests, social media activism, and political engagement are common approaches, a lesser-known yet powerful weapon in the culture war lies in our purchasing power. The ability to shape corporate behavior and culture through our consumer choices can have a profound impact on the direction society takes. Our purchasing power has a profound impact and we need to start using it more. We can no longer support brands that promote worldviews that are diametrically opposed to Truth. We need to continue making examples of brands who do these things by refusing to purchase their products and services.

The Bud Light Scandal: A Case Study
One compelling case that illustrates the influence consumers can wield is the Bud Light scandal. In an increasingly polarized climate, Bud Light faced severe backlash after running a controversial advertisement by working with a man who thinks he is a woman and putting his face on a Bud Light can. This obviously offended sensible conservative consumers. Fueled by frustration, conservatives organized and launched a boycott, refusing to purchase Bud Light products. It worked.

The impact was significant, as sales plummeted, leaving the company in a dire predicament. Three months later the sales slump continues and Bud Light is in the middle of the worst PR crisis of the year. The episode demonstrated the potency of collective action, highlighting how consumer choices can directly affect a corporation’s bottom line and reputation. We can and must do this with every single brand that mocks God and promotes people and values that are antithetical to our Biblical worldview.

Corporations and Cultural Power
Corporations often wield substantial cultural influence. From advertisements and sponsorships to partnerships with public figures, they actively shape societal narratives. However, this influence is contingent upon consumer demand and loyalty. By continuing to purchase products from companies whose actions or values clash with our own, we inadvertently grant them the cultural power they seek.
Conversely, by consciously redirecting our purchasing power towards businesses that share our values, we can reshape the cultural landscape and promote positive change. Christians often find themselves grappling with the challenge of upholding their values while navigating a secular marketplace. However, there is a growing movement towards building a parallel economy where Christians actively support businesses that share their beliefs and principles.

Supporting Values-Aligned Businesses
Supporting businesses that align with our values is crucial in the battle for cultural influence. By choosing to patronize and financially empower such establishments, we can bolster their growth and impact. Small businesses and startups that reflect our beliefs often lack the vast resources of multinational corporations, making our support all the more meaningful. Additionally, by engaging with these businesses, we foster a sense of community and connection, strengthening networks that promote shared values.

The Power of Economic Alignment
In a society where consumer choices hold considerable sway, aligning economic decisions with religious beliefs can have a profound impact. By actively supporting Christian businesses, people can vote with their wallets and create an ecosystem that aligns with their faith-based values. Such economic alignment can strengthen the Christian community, foster a sense of solidarity, and provide resources for further growth and empowerment.

Why Support Christian Businesses?
  1. Shared Values and Ethical Practices: Christian businesses are often guided by principles that align with biblical teachings. They prioritize honesty, integrity, fair treatment of employees, and ethical sourcing of materials, among other considerations. Supporting these businesses means supporting practices that reflect Christian values and contribute to the common good.
  2. Strengthening the Community: By patronizing Christian businesses, individuals foster a sense of community and belonging. These businesses can become gathering places for like-minded individuals, facilitating connections, fellowship, and support networks. Building a community that shares common values enhances the sense of unity among Christians and fosters a deeper understanding of faith.
  3. Promoting Christian Influence: Supporting Christian businesses can amplify their reach and impact. As these businesses grow and thrive, they gain the ability to contribute to philanthropic causes, support local churches, and engage in charitable initiatives that align with Christian principles. By bolstering their success, Christians can amplify their collective voice and influence in society.
Practical Steps For Building a Parallel Economy
  1. Research and Discover: Seek out Christian businesses that align with your values. Online directories, local church networks, and Christian communities can serve as valuable resources to identify businesses that prioritize their faith in their operations.
  2. Prioritize Collaboration: Foster connections and collaborations within the Christian business community. Networking events, trade shows, and online platforms dedicated to Christian entrepreneurship can facilitate partnerships and collaborations, enabling businesses to support one another and jointly serve their target audience.
  3. Encourage Entrepreneurship: Support and encourage Christian entrepreneurship by mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs, providing resources, and investing in startups that align with your values. By nurturing and empowering Christian entrepreneurs, the parallel economy can flourish, offering diverse options for consumers while promoting shared beliefs.
  4. Amplify Your Support: Share your positive experiences with Christian businesses on social media, review platforms, and word-of-mouth. Recommendations and endorsements from fellow Christians carry weight and can inspire others to support these businesses. Likewise, constructively engage with businesses when improvements can be made, fostering growth and accountability within the Christian business ecosystem.
In the culture war, voting with your purchasing power emerges as a potent and tangible strategy for expressing your values and effecting change. The Bud Light scandal serves as a vivid reminder that corporations’ cultural power hinges on our consumer choices. Building a parallel economy rooted in Christian values presents a unique opportunity for believers to live out their faith in the marketplace. By intentionally supporting Christian businesses, individuals can align their economic choices with their religious convictions, fostering a sense of community, and contributing to the growth of a values-driven ecosystem.
At Gab, we have been working to build the Parallel Economy and have thousands of businesses that share our values. We’ve created a small sample of these businesses organized by category that you can view in our Parallel Economy Shopping Catalog.

As Christians unite in their economic endeavors, they possess the power to shape the marketplace and promote a culture that aligns with their shared beliefs. Let us embrace the potential of a parallel economy and work together to create a flourishing community of Christian businesses built upon the foundation of faith and shared values.
To God be the glory.

A Modern Pilgrimage: Online Communities as Virtual Nation States

The existing infrastructure and cultural norms in the West are increasingly hostile or incompatible with Christian values. In response to this reality many of us are turning towards the idea of building our own parallel infrastructure and communities, not unlike the pilgrims who were seeking new land and religious freedom during the early days of America. Unfortunately there is nowhere left to run to. Every country on earth is subjected to the globalist regime in one form or another and so we can’t just physically pack up our things, move to new lands, and form our own nation–at least not yet.

Thankfully with the power of technology we might not have to.

In the age of the internet the concept of community has transcended physical boundaries. Digital sovereignty refers to the idea that an online community, through its collective power and shared values, can establish a self-governing entity in the digital realm. Similar to traditional nation states, digital sovereign communities have their own governance structures, social norms, and economic systems. They strive to maintain autonomy and preserve the rights and interests of their members within the online space they inhabit.

The underlying motivation behind the pursuit of digital sovereignty lies in the desire for self-determination, or the ability to define and govern one’s own virtual environment. Digital sovereign communities develop their own codes of conduct, charters, or constitutions that outline the rights, responsibilities, and privileges of their members. In Gab’s case this is our Terms of Service, which is the only Terms of Service on the internet to offer First Amendment-protected free speech. Digital citizens enjoy certain freedoms within the community, such as freedom of expression, association, and participation in decision-making processes.

The rise of online communities as digital sovereign nation states presents a paradigm shift in how we conceptualize governance and community in the digital age. These virtual entities enable individuals to come together, exercise autonomy, and create alternative spaces that reflect their values and aspirations. As technology continues to evolve the boundaries between physical and digital realms blur, opening up new possibilities for self-governance, collaboration, and the formation of parallel digital societies.

A Digital Pilgrimage

In the early 17th century, England was undergoing religious and political turmoil. Dissatisfied with the Church of England and its practices a group of devout English Separatists, known as the Pilgrims, sought religious freedom and a chance to establish a community based on their beliefs. After fleeing to the Netherlands they yearned for a new home where they could practice their faith without persecution.

In 1620 the Pilgrims embarked on a perilous voyage across the vast Atlantic Ocean aboard the Mayflower. The journey was treacherous, with cramped conditions, seasickness, and harsh weather taking a toll on the passengers. Despite the hardships the Pilgrims found solace in their shared conviction and unwavering determination to create a better future for their families.

The Pilgrims’ story embodies the American spirit of resilience, determination, and the pursuit of freedom. Their quest for religious liberty and their willingness to brave the unknown laid the foundation for the American Dream.

In the digital age this pursuit takes on a different form: the creation of sovereign digital communities and parallel infrastructure. Christians are embracing digital communities and parallel infrastructure as a means of preserving their values, connecting with like-minded individuals, and fostering a sense of belonging in an ever-evolving world of chaos.

The Western world’s infrastructure and culture have undergone significant changes in recent decades. Traditional Christian values, once deeply rooted in society, are often marginalized or opposed. Institutions that were once pillars of faith are now challenged by secular ideologies and this includes many churches. Christians face a dilemma: how can we navigate a culture that no longer aligns with our beliefs while remaining faithful to our convictions?

In this context sovereign digital communities offer a powerful alternative. Just as the pilgrims sought new land to establish their own communities Christians are creating our own digital spaces that uphold and promote Christian values. Digital communities, like Gab, provide a platform for Christians to connect, share ideas, and support one another despite geographical limitations. These communities can transcend borders, time zones, and physical barriers, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual encouragement.

Building Parallel Infrastructure

Building parallel infrastructure is not about retreating from society or isolating oneself from the world. It is an intentional effort to create spaces where Christian values can flourish. Digital platforms allow Christians to establish online fellowship with one another, Bible study groups, prayer networks, commerce, and educational resources that cater specifically to our needs. By leveraging technology, Christians can reclaim the narrative and actively shape our own spaces of influence that are beyond the control of the enemy.

The success of digital communities relies on active participation and nurturing. Christians must foster an environment of fellowship, support, and discipleship within these digital spaces. This includes engaging in meaningful conversations, providing guidance and mentorship, supporting one another’s businesses and promoting unity among diverse perspectives while remaining steadfast in biblical principles.

Just as the pilgrims embarked on a journey in search of religious freedom, Christians who are embracing digital communities embark on a modern pilgrimage. It is a pilgrimage of faith where the pursuit of truth and the cultivation of Christian values take center stage. It is an opportunity to find like-minded individuals, to build networks, and to impact the world with the love and teachings of Jesus Christ.

As the existing infrastructure and cultural landscape in the West continue to dissolve Christians are faced with the challenge of preserving our values and maintaining a sense of community. Embracing digital communities offers a promising solution, allowing Christians to build parallel infrastructure and connect with fellow believers worldwide. Just as the pilgrims sought new land for religious freedom, Christians must now embark on a digital pilgrimage, carving out spaces where our faith can thrive. Through sovereign digital communities and parallel infrastructure, Christians can create meaningful connections, share resources, and impact the world for Christ in the digital age.

Gab.com Refuses To Comply With Irish “Hate Speech” and “Anti-Prayer Zone” Laws

JUNE 28, 2023
Part of Gab’s mission is to export the First Amendment to the entire world. To do this we regularly must tell foreign governments to pound sand when they make requests for user data and demand that we censor content that is protected by the First Amendment.

Each time our answer is the same: get lost.

Recently there has been a rise in “hate speech” legislation popping up all around the world as governments scramble to prevent people from speaking freely about being replaced and ruled in their home countries by foreigners who don’t share their values. Unfortunately these “hate speech” laws are not only native to foreign countries without the protections of the First Amendment, but as we’ve seen recently they are also happening at the behest of the donor class in the United States in places like Florida.

Let me make one thing very clear: Gab firmly stands against any attempts by the Irish government, or any foreign government for that matter, to enforce censorship or engage in doxing of Irish users.
The Irish Criminal Justice (Incitement to Violence or Hatred and Hate Offences) Act 2022 represents an update to the existing 1989 law. The rationale behind this update stems from the government’s priority to erode the freedom of the majority of their citizens in exchange for protecting the fragile feelings of marginalized communities, including individuals of different races, religions, persons with disabilities, and those identifying as LGBTQ.

The updated legislation aims to address so-called “hate crimes,” criminalize the denial or trivialization of genocide, and extend protections to encompass gender identity and disability.
Minister for Justice Helen McEntee, the bill’s proponent, has responded to claims that speech would be curtailed. She emphasizes the distinction between “hate speech” and freedom of speech, with the former intended to “silence and instill fear.”

The new law will introduce specific measures to combat hate crimes, defining them as intentional or reckless communication and behavior likely to incite violence or hatred. Penalties for hate crimes could reach up to five years of imprisonment. Victims targeted due to prejudice based on age, ability, ethnicity, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, or gender will benefit from enhanced protection. Straight White Christians need not apply.

The legislation will facilitate the prosecution of hate crimes by allowing prosecutors to rely on the use of hostile slurs, gestures, or symbols as evidence. However, critics express concerns that these changes may lead to the censorship of politically incorrect views, including those pertaining to “trans rights.”

The Prohibition of Incitement to Hatred Act, enacted in 1989, criminalizes the communication of threatening, abusive, or insulting material likely to incite hatred against a group of people. However, individuals can currently defend themselves against charges by claiming they did not intend to promote hatred, based on their lack of knowledge or reason to suspect the content’s nature. The new law changes this defense, making individuals liable for hate crimes even if they claim lack of intent.

Unfortunately things get even worse for Christians in Ireland. Other legislation seeks to establish designated zones across Ireland where prayer is prohibited, as depicted in the accompanying map. The proposed legislation, often referred to as the “anti-prayer zone” law, seeks to create designated areas where public prayer would be prohibited.

Anyone repeatedly protesting outside medical centres that provide abortions could face a €2,500 fine or six months in prison. The new laws are aimed at clamping down on anyone protesting outside or close to medical facilities which provide terminations of pregnancy. The proposals will see a 100-metre buffer zone imposed outside abortion clinics, within which protests impeding access or attempts to influence a woman’s decision to have an abortion will be outlawed.

Gab is committed to being a refuge for anonymous free speech in Ireland. We welcome our Irish friends to speak freely on our platform. We will not bend to any demands from your government to censor free speech or dox anyone who is engaged in it on our platform. If you’re Irish and on Gab we are exporting the First Amendment to you. We will do everything in our power to subvert these draconian laws by exporting the First Amendment to Ireland, as is our right under our Constitution.

How Gab Deals With Scraping on the Open Web

JULY 1, 2023
Nearly everything that is publicly accessible on the Internet is being “scraped” or downloaded by various sources. In the beginning, it was primarily search engines doing this, but this has been forever expanding to include archive sites, researchers, advertising shops, government agencies, and many more organizations who are hungry for data to collect and analyze. It is a fact of life on the open web, and something we at Gab are very familiar with.

Twitter has recently implemented some harsh daily “reading” limits on normal user accounts, and even on paid verified accounts, complaining about the scraping they are being subjected to. We are skeptical if this is the true motivation behind the changes, because there are obviously better ways to combat excessive scraping than to implement blanket limitations on everyone. I use Twitter very lightly, quickly scanning it a few times a day, and I have already received the rate limiting error today. I find it very hard to believe that they cannot handle the traffic from the scraping, or that they cannot address the scraping in the same ways we have.

Through constant monitoring of the site and the sources of traffic we are able to identify specific IPs and networks where scraping is originating. We ban these sources, and continue to ban new ones as they appear. This is why some users on certain VPN locations will be unable to access the site, because that same location was being used to abuse the site. We do also have some rate-limits in place, although they are meant to be a second layer of defense and set at a level we believe is unlikely to be hit by a human user. Protecting the site while keeping everything open and fully accessible to our users and the general public, is our goal. On this, I think we do a great job and strike the right balance.

Twitter has seemingly left the open web, and joined Facebook in requiring everyone to be logged in to view content. This only makes Gab more important as a public source of news and free expression, accessible by anyone anywhere.

Take the ongoing situation in France, for example, and ask yourself, what site would you trust with your browsing and communication? Elon Musk from Twitter met with the French President and will certainly be censoring content on behalf of the government. Twitter will know French users and prevent French users from seeing things, even if they log in through an IP in another country. Gab CEO Andrew Torba tells the French government to get bent, and Gab will support free public discussion without censoring any of it. We seek to export the freedoms of the First Amendment to the World and keep the web free and open. So get on Gab.com and speak freely.

Interesting.
Gab is taking a more measured and targeted approach than the absolute sperged-out lockdown Elon Musk pulled with Twitter.

Does Elon Musk have a lolcow thread?
His actions since acquiring twitter have become even more eccentric than usual.
