And the sexualization of Britney Spears while she was still a minor was criticized even at the time. It was creepy as hell and completely inappropriate, and the fact that it was so widespread and mainstream (as well as the sexualization of other minor girls in the entertainment industry) shows if anything that pedophilia towards adolescent girls is still normalized and not taken seriously like it should be.

I am sure some people criticized it. There are always mentally retarded moralists waiting to get asshurt about anything and everything, including basic human sexuality. If a minor is trying to sexualize themselves, the adults in their lives need to tell them to cut that shit out b/c it's not appropriate and could attract people who are dangerous. Britney's parents did the exact opposite, I also don't buy it was entirely her choice to be so sexualized as a minor (given how much her parents abd producers controlled everything about her life and career even as an adult).
