Angry Customer Destroys GameStop Store Over Inability To Return ‘Fallout 76’

All you had to do was keep the damn receipt cj

Suppose he didn't have the receipt because he stole it in the first place.

This is why you dont purchase games after being announced at E3.

This is why you buy on Steam where if it is unadulterated ass, refunding it is as simple as clicking a button.

(Think there's a reason it wasn't released on Steam?)

They didn't release on Steam primarily because they didn't want Valve taking a 30% cut of all PC sales when Bethesda maintains their own PC Application for purchasing/installing/patching games (see also - Origins, GOG, GMG Playfire, Battle.net Launcher, etc).

The lack of reviews on Steam are just an added bonus for them, because it sounds as if they would be brutal.

I'm just surprised that there are black people who play Fallout.

Fallout is one of those rare, transcendent games that just about everybody can enjoy, at least the older games. Fallout 2 had the "huge install" option where you didn't need the CD to play it after installation.

I loaned it to a bunch of people I went to school with, blacks, orientals, etc. and we were all hooked. It's one of those games where even the people that just played sports games liked it. I remember a couple guys in the neighborhood that didn't even play games who I loaned it to and they loved it.

I remember one of the guys who didnt play games, every day at the bus stop he'd tell me about all the shop owners he killed to steal their stuff. He didn't even do the quests he just killed everyone. :)

I'm black but this dude is acting like the stereotypical violent gamer the media wants gamers to be. He also reinforces the stereotype of the angry black dude who will act aggressive over everything. On the game though it's a waste of money if you ask me until they fix major issues with it but that's their problem with releasing a beta so early to release date.

I'm more annoyed that he trashed Gamestop. They are always the ones who get the shit for gaming companies.

I'd be happy if it was a video of him walking into Bethesda and telling them "What the fuck is this shit!?" then trashing the place. Then Todd comes out of his office to see whats happening and he gets clocked in the face. Like that guy would be my hero.

The problem is the kind of people who think this thing through enough to realize who they should actually be mad at instead of just randomly chimping out at the nearest person will usually next think maybe I shouldn't fuck up my life over complete bullshit and instead, end up not doing anything except maybe writing an angry letter and getting $50 of free coupons or some shit.

I don't like Gamestop (I can't remember the last game I made a physical purchase for) but being upset with them is a fruitless. You know have a game you can't return and have to worry about your idiocy getting you in serious trouble for vandalism.

It's infuriating but cutting a fool in public and destroying store equipment won't get people on your side. It makes me irratated to see this kind of thing not just in Gamestop but I work retail and people flip out all the time because they feel they need to dish out rage to the person nearest to them. This benefits nobody as I'm sure this dude is still stuck with his purchase.

they probably offered him a moldy sandwich and an old dorito for in-store credit and that's why he wanted to return w/o reciept

I want the money back that I didn't spend on this shitty game. I feel for the dude but I hope he gets charged like a bitch.

On the topic of blacks playing Fallout, one time while trying to get a quote from these minimum wage security company employees, they conversationally inquired about our past line of work, and we mentioned some garden-variety radioactive immuno-assay type stuff, nothing special really. One of the security drones, this overweight bespectacled black guy, suddenly perked up and eagerly butted in with a joke about how he hoped our office isn't contaminated by too many "rads", smugly adding that he's "kind of a nerd" when explaining to his coworkers that a "rad is the unit they use to measure radiation".

I instantly knew that he only knew this from playing Fallout, as no one who actually works with radiation measures exposure or dosage in rads, it's all been done in Grays and millisieverts for many decades now. The cringe was so strong I involuntarily winced.
