My only hobby is digging around for weird horror movies on DVD. I love the 90's-2000's shot on video direct to DVD garbage you'd get at the rental store. This was the last movie I watched.

I know it's been mainstream for awhile now but JoJo's Bizarre adventure has to be my favorite anime of all time. There's just something about it being so campy yet incredibly serious that gets my dopamine receptors going. Also the fights rarely revolve around powerlevels so it's also a nice change from most combat based anime. I've been falling away from a lot of anime/manga over the last few years and only really watch comedy ones now. I watched Nichijou about a year ago and really enjoyed the incredibly overdramatic comedy. Some of my old favorites are Azumanga Daioh and Great Teacher Onizuka.
I also like reading Yotsuba since I grew up with siblings a lot younger than me so it brings a wholesome nostalgia about living with a young child.

One of my favorite not so great, not so mainstream anime games is Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale, but I'm a sucker for in game bartering when it's done alright.

"I like ruining people's happiness because I am a lonely piece of shit." I tend to translate things like these well from people like you.

Who asked you about pedophilia? For fuck's sake, I've already been around dipshits like you yelling about that and then they get a visit from Johnny Law because they usually got caught trying to seduce kids or exposing themselves to them by the elementary school.

In before "mad at the internet" because weakness seeking bullies are too much of a shriveled dick to make fun of the higher people on the pecking order. Go play on social media.

well anime is crawling with pedos

Anime: Some of my favorites are the Bee Train "Girls with Guns" Trilogy (Noir, Madlax, El Cazador de la Bruja), Legend of the Galactic Heroes (I'm about halfway though it now), Gunsmith Cats/Riding Bean, Black Lagoon, So Ra No Wo To, Girls' Last Tour

Games: Some of my favorites are modded Oblivion, modded Skyrim, modded DOOM/DOOM II in a source port, the entire STALKER series, Half Life 1, Deus Ex 1, Warcraft 3, Arx Fatalis

Hobbies: Drawing, graphic design, cosplay/going to conventions, shooting guns, and occasionally lifting weights and reading (both manga and actual books)

Music: My favorite genre lately is folk metal from Northern and Eastern Europe (Ensiferum, Moonsorrow, Tyr, Arkona, Skyforger, Temnozor) but I also really like thrash metal (Sodom, Kreator, Slayer, old Metallica) and occasionally death metal (especially Amon Amarth and Cannibal Corpse)

I tend to like really strange things. My parents and friends all know me as one of the weirdos. Hell, my dad even once asked if I show him the weird shit I like just to shock him.

I haven’t seen too much anime as I’m still getting into that world so I can’t comment much in that.

For movies one of my favorites is Meet the Feebles. You can find the whole movie on YouTube, so I’ll leave it here. It’s... it’s strange, mean-spirited, and offensive. Probably why I like it. Oh, and it was made by Peter Jackson before he got famous and was making weird budget films with his friends.

With video games I tend to like a lot of post-apocalyptic stuff. My favorite game is actually a stand-alone mod that I’ve further modified to balance it better. That mod being S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Dead Air. You thought Dark Sous was hard? Never played it, but imagine that instead of no pausing that your quick saves could be made at bad points and make them unusable, mutants that can kill you by being too close, hidden radiation, hunger, the fact that most food isn’t healthy and hurts you, no anomaly detectors meaning that you have to rely on your eyes to make sure you don’t run into a spot where the gravity will randomly hurt you, being hard-presses for funds and ways to make money, etc. It’s hardcore and I only recommend it to the most hardcore of stalkers out there, but if you ask me it’s how the game was meant to be played. I also play Metro on ranger hardcore and Doom on nightmare. I also love the SWAT games. Not super weird aside from how hardcore I take these games, though.

Music is where my weirdness really shines. Tool, Buckethead, the Melvins, the Residents, and the Butthole Surfers are some of my favorite artists. Most of them have done normal stuff but when they get weird they go all out, and it’s glorious.

Anime: Cardcaptor Sakura, Black Lagoon, InuYasha, Sailor Moon, Digimon Adventure, Digimon Tamers, Fullmetal Alchemist (2003 Anime only), Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Evangelion, Naruto Part I, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Ouran High School Host Club, Mad Bull 34, Angel Cop, Urotsukidoji, Monster Rancher, Trigun, Lupin III

Video Games: Resident Evil, Grand Theft Auto, Classic DOOM, Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Street Fighter II, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro The Dragon, The Simpsons: Hit & Run, Age of Empires, Bloodrayne, Saints Row 2, Army Men, CarnEvil

Tabletop Games: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. D&D 3.5/Pathfinder 1E, Vampire: The Masquerade*, Boot Hill, Big Eyes Small Mouth, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Mage: The Ascension, RECON, and the New World of Darkness**

Music: Classic Rock, Classic Country, Bluegrass, Disco, Heavy Metal, Oldies Hits (1950's, 1960's, and 1970's) and 1980's Hits

Other Interests: History, reading, fanfiction, and toy soldiers

*-Excluding the new fifth edition of the game. Never cared for the later metaplot or the game's insanely toxic autistic fanbase.

**-First Edition only. Never cared for the Second Edition "Chronicles of Darkness" stuff such as Beast: The Primordial or Demon: The Descent. And as always, the fanbase is one of the worst.

Serial Experiments Lain was one of the first series I ever watched that was Japanese.

Azumanga Daioh was the first Japanese comedy series I watched, and I still put it up as the bar for how all-ages comedy is done right, and I also compare it to its original, superior comic book version and how the studio replicated the feel of the pace to varying success.

Scrapped Princess is one of my favorites because it has a standard to everything it does and doesn't feel pandering at any point. Even the simplest insignificant detail, like how one character is shown in a single scene pushing away peas on his plate aside with no comment, gives the series personality that is in short supply in a lot of mainstream animation. I tend to attribute this to it being made off an actual book instead of a comic. It also has an amazing orchestral soundtrack.

Slayers is one of my favorite all-time parodies of fantasy (and before anyone says anything, yes I read Discworld - this is just in the genre of animation.)

Excel Saga is one of my favorite all-time parodies of anime.

Omg I love you no homo still have to watch Slayers. Scrapped Princess needs more love, it being overlooked is a travesty.

These things are double-isolating for me, because I fucking hate weeaboos with their "omg look at the dwagon lesbians weawing maid dwesses KAWAII"-shit, and I goddamned hate fan service. Fan service is entertainment's version of padding a news broadcast with a puppy and shitty puns. This all leads to anime fans seeing me as a grump that "has no fun" while they're off masturbating to teenage magical girls and playing Fortnite or some shit.

Agreed. I can enjoy some newer anime still, but the fanservice is definitely a turn-off unless it's woven into the series well (rare, but if Shimoneta could do it as a satire, other shows can).

I suggest Babylon 5 to these cunts and all I get is a "oh man, it looks old, though" at which point I want to piledrive their jaws through a kitchen sink.

It's from the fucking '90s what the fuck is their problem.

Don't watch too many live-action shows myself nowadays so I have nothing to add to it, but I've known too many anime fans ("fans") who won't watch older shows ('90s-and-beyond) because "it looks ugly/old", and I don't know if they are who they claim they are. The moment someone says something "looks old" and they make excuses to avoid watching it, they're a lost cause and have revealed themselves as posers who needed a hobby and went for easy mode because it's everywhere on the Internet. The only excuse I can maybe take is "It's not available anywhere", and bless their hearts for wanting to watch things legally, but it's time to suck it up and pirate like everyone else.

Weird how encouraging downloading torrents gives you dirty looks just because Hollywood threw a bitch fit over it.

In terms of manga, I’ve always held a soft spot for Yotsuba@! (Made by the same guy who made Azumanga Daioh). For a lot of you, you probably know her as the 4Chan girl.

There's something rather infectious about Yotsuba, her enthusiasm, how she reacts to the world, and how the people in her life interact with her. It just feels very pure and innocent by nature. I discovered it back in high school and it made me nostalgic for my days as a child. It was also very enjoyable to read from the perspective of a teenager/adult, seeing as how the older kids and adults were just a big a part of the series as Yotsuba herself is.

Oyasumi Punpun is also one of my favorites. I went into it not knowing what to expect and it is probably one of the few pieces of work that made me think "This... is art". For those who haven't read it, I highly suggest you do.

For really obscure, I also really liked Bitter Virgin. On the outside, it seems like a typical high school romance manga, but it actually tackles some pretty heavy and depressing issues and the main characters were pretty captivating. Also helped that the person who made the manga based the story on her own personal experiences, so it feels that much more genuine.

Right now, I'm also enjoying reading/watching the Takagi-san manga and anime respectively. Yeah, a bit embarrassing to admit, but there's just something wholesome about watching two middle schoolers dealing with their feelings for each other. Reminds me of a more simple and innocent time.

I suppose Shin-Chan isn't that obscure, but it's still worth mentioning. Had really good memories watching the Funimation dub on Adult Swim back in High School.

For obscure video games, I loved Metal Arms: Glitch in the System and the King's Field series. Both are extremely under-appreciated.

I'm a big fan of a lot of weird stuff:

-Ghost Hunt - Easily one of my biggest anime obsessions. I fell in love with a lot of paranormal stuff through this anime and the characters have a awesome found family dynamic. Plus I'm a sucker for unrequited romance that isn't really romance.
-Psychic Detective Yakumo - Another anime with paranormal themes and a will they, wont they romance sub plot.
-I'm also a big fan of more obscure fluffy shoujo manga (Dengeki Daisy, Black Bird, the Early and the Fairy, etc.) Bonus points for a paranormal romance. Also Durarara!! So much Durarara!!.
-YA Novels, particularly stereotypical post-apocalyptic themes (The Test, Hunger Games, Divergent, etc) and paranormal romances (City of Bones, Fallen, Hush Hush)
-Lolita Fashion: Frills will always have a special place in my heart and so will ridiculously expensive dresses.

Also cryptids and ghosts. Take me away Moth Man

I find it kind of hard to get good anime and manga now, and there's not many book titles that are really interesting me either. I'm kind of stuck, which sucks.

I've watched 75+ anime's over the years, read 200+ manga's, and books are countless and I'm just too burnt out now to know where to begin. I'm even starting to dig myself into a hole with documentaries in the video category, and I have a few lined up to buy in book form.

Game wise? There's a few.... but they're more obscure than anything. I don't like the more popular games, and while the indie games have good premise and have nice looking character designs; they tend to lack finesse in their actual game play. They either look like something from Dungeons and dragons 3 for PC ( it was a 3 or 4 floppy disc game) from way back in the day, or scrolls, and that's not what I'm looking for; and a lot of time it's the same stories over and over again.

It saddens me....

I'm mad at the internet!! XD

Anime:
Doctor Blackjack (I was already a huge fan of the work of the late Osamu Tezuka, but Doctor Blackjack is an underrated gem of a show which I started watching when I was 15), Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid,Excel Saga, Kotoura San and The Wallflower (it's like a gothic version of Ouran)

Games: those generic "Imagine" DS games, I remember really enjoying Imagine Happy Cooking I think I actually prefered that over Cooking Mama back in the day, the Ps2 Bratz games, I loved being able to visit different locations, play different mini-games and wear different outfits in those games,I haven't played them in YEARS though, that and those Operate Now surgery simulation games I remember really liking them and any flash game that involved home decoration, cooking or dress up from the 2000s or the Adobe versions of retro games like Super Mario World or the Pixel Chix version of the original Donkey Kong called Monster Baby

also Cards against humanity

Hobbies: Reading (I've been reading a lot of biographies recently, with the exception of Good Omens), Writing (poetry, my own comedy monologues and just general writing),

Film (I love researching about Film, Watching films and learning about the production of certain films)

Fashion (I like learning about the different fashion designers in history like Alexander McQueen and seeing the latest looks for events like the Met Gala, I also sometimes like watching youtube videos about what fashion was like in different decades like the 50s and 70s)
(I really like the 60s Mod style, gothic styles and anything "punk" or alternative like Fairy Kei, Japanese street fashion or Lolita dresses

Philosophy (Nietzsche, Burke, Ayn Rand I quite like learning about Oscar Wilde too)

History (I used to be really into WWII research but back then I didn't talk about it constructively, outside of that I like researching about Victorian England,1960s/70s America (specifically the stonewall era), sometimes I'll research a bit about Irish history but that's a bit messy, generally I'll research about most decades and countries.

Theatre (as a former Performing Arts student I really like watching plays whether they're classics like West Side Story or more modern productions like Be More Chill or the Beetlejuice musical)

Science (whether it's learning about outer space or learning about medicine, I just find it all so fascinating)

Spirituality related stuff (Psychic abilities, Lucid Dreaming, Magic, Witchcraft, Buddhism anything of that sort)

Music: I've been getting into Oingo Boingo recently before that I was listening to Dead or Alive,I also love Vaporwave,Kero Kero Bonito and future funk, some old anime theme songs (especially the themes from Urusei Yatsura,Cardcaptor Sakura and Ranma 1/2), a lot of Rock, Metal, Electronica and new wave, early 2000s hip hop and I've also gotten back into Kpop with bands like Red Velvet and Girls Generation, before that I was really into Visual Kei bands like SID, Vivid and Heidi.

generally, I listen to a lot of different bands and genres including some old girl groups like The Nolans and The Crystals

ever watched samurai champloo? it has a ps2 game with its own original story and it has no right being as good as it is. one of the reasons i miss that era is beacuse devs were given alot of time to experiment and would some times create something good by accident. now, if a game dosent sale, the dev team gets put to the axe.

I have seen many anime and I don’t necessarily have a favorite. I can’t find myself being able to choose one that I prefer over the others. I will say that I like Black Clover, My Hero Academia, Naruto Shippuden, and Soul Eater. As far as gaming? I am a huge Pokémon fan.

I liking recently SAO and Berserk. but i am not watching anime too much. just on my vacant times.
