I wonder if they will ever adapt this into anime

The year is 1993. Someone is arguing that unlike other mecha anime, a particular show (Patlabor in this instance) is about the characters. Comparing it, even, to a critically acclaimed live-action American tv show. Not much has changed.

Fascinating. Almost like glimpse what fans would be like. So what does anyone think about that Lex Express?

That manga is getting an anime, it was announced back in July although no official air date was announced

But if your asking in general if whether or not a particular manga will get anime there are a few rule of thumbs
-If its a Shonen Jump series and has avoided the axe for at least a year and a half, its almost guarantied an anime, there has only been 3 exceptions in the last 10 years, Act-Age, Samon-kun wa Summoner, and Sesuji wo Pin!.

-If it regularly ranks on Oricon and not something better suited for a JDrama i.e. if you go look at the 50 top selling manga from 2022, 11 series without any anime where given/have upcoming once since and the only notable exceptions are a Josei mystery and Shojo romance that both got live actions instead, 2 spin offs of popular series, 1 WSJ that follows the above rule of thumb, and a 2 volume short series that blew up for some reason

-If its the top series in it's magazine. Remember anime adaptations 90% of time are used to advertise the source material so while publishers will put most of their advertising budget to fund more manga from there biggest magazines, they will still give even the most obscure monthly magazine some money for an adaptation, only catch that it's probably 1 or 2 or year instead of something like jump that seems to have 3 if not more anime adaptation running every season.

I wasn't expecting The Foolish Angel Dances With The Devil to turn into Love is War

Just got out of the first Gurren Lagann movie. Man, I love this series. Extremely pumped for the second film next week.

I really hope the anime changes some shit of the manga. It's actually good in the beginning with good shit like this.

Samon-kun wa Summoner
I only know this series because it had a crossover chapter with Osomatsu-san of all series:
samomatsusan.jpg
I don't know if it was included in a volume of Samon-kun wa Summoner, but it's in Volume 2 of Osomatsu-san. In the chapter, Osomatsu sees Samon summon a demon that can turn scrap metal into coins, so Osomatsu and his brothers take apart Iyami's van. They then give some of the money to Totoko, who has Samon summon a demon in space. Todomatsu makes the Totty face in the final panel.

I can't get into berserk at all. I tried. I'm sorry....
You need to read the manga, only the 90s anime is worth watching and that had it's problems.
But admittedly dark fantasy isn't for everyone.

The entire point of the show is to shock the viewer with scenes of senseless violence.
Nah. If I think of berserk I think of scenes like the bonfire of dreams or Guts speech to Jill when she wanted to go with him.
There's a bunch of really great character moments in it that people miss because they just see rape and violence and think that's all there is to it.

The violence isn't really senseless. The closest to senseless violence would be the apostles, but the apostles are humans who sacrificed the things and people they loved most in order to escape their emotional pain and became hedonistic monsters. In an attempt to lose their pain they gave up their humanity humanity and became something horrific and destructive, and then at the end several of them realise that they never got over their pain and indulging in their every desire didn't fulfil them. Zodd wasn't satisfied by 300 years of battle, the slug count never got over his wife cheating on him, Rosine never managed to escape the pain of her loneliness (and she's particularly sad because she wanted a home and family and in the end she sacrificed what home and family she had, she ran away and never tried to make things better).

Well I guess you could bring up Donovan, but he's a pedo that gets slowly and brutally murdered. And Donovan raping Guts as a child does very much get portrayed as a horrific and deeply scarring event that Guts carries with him most of his life and deeply negatively impacts his relationships with others and his view of himself.

Gauron is just a pure psycho. That man doesn't have sex, he just kills people. I'm convinced of that
A rather desperate cope.
not a pedo.jpg
That's not even getting into bacha bazi being widely practices in Afghanistan for hundreds of years.

I have a thing for biomechanical stuff and high octane racing. I enjoyed Blassreiter. It's a creative show and fun watch especially compared to the many trash isekais we see today.
It's one thing to enjoy a good trainwreck, but Blassreiter is not even that. It's a mess with no clear direction or oversight.

Hey, so I already tried asking on other places meant for this sort of question, and they turned up nothing... but I've just got a wild hunch that maybe the anime fans on Kiwi will recognize it.

A friend of mine saw a show while on vacation once. This vacation would've happened in the mid-to-late 2000s so its a show that existed at around that time.

Here's how he described it:

it's probably toy driven show, the protagonist had multiple creatures, one creature is a tank looking thing, protagonist has a gun looking device of some kind, protagonist shoots 3 beams in the air, protagonist merges with the creatures and rides inside it in some way.

When he first brought it up to me, I investigated and found the following:

He's like 99% sure of the gun part and 100% of the "three beams" part.

He's not entirely sure but to his memory it wasn't a "team" show. (He could be wrong tho).

He said that he once saw Digimon Xros Wars and it gave him flashbacks to this mystery show.

If this description is sounding familiar to anyone, let me know.

I like the Hokkaido Guyaru show. Reminds me of Utah right now, specifically the cold and snow

anyone watching 'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess? just found out it got an anime that just released.

i wish she would Torture me.
It's cute because their form of "torture" is just offering basic human desires. The princess from childhood was forbidden from any worldly pleasure, meaning she could be compelled to spill state secrets just by offering her toast. When you think about it that's a little sad, as the demons are treating her far better then the humans were - even getting a giantess to mother her.

I started watching the first episode and gave up midway. It's the same fucking joke and food porn over and over, and the princess selling army secrets for food is pretty reprehensible. Even as a comedy I can't get out of my head that people died so the princess could have a fucking butter toast.

Also it just reminds me how I hope Maoujou de Oyasumi needs to get a second season.
