Anime/Manga - Discuss Japanese cartoons and comics here; NO CULTURE WAR DOOMPOSTING!

Last day I saw my brother watch record of ragnarok on netflix.

He called me an hater for saying that the pacing is bad and the countless secondary characters making retard comments about anything that happens makes the whole thing look braindead and insufferable.

The conversation that characters have instead of fighting was also shit and at least he had enough gray matter to mock it too, as well as how fights are structured.

Still, I decided to see if the manga was any different, it wasn't, at all, but at least the fight were better drawn.

I commented about how static it the fights were (they're basically a power point animation at times, lmao) and his response was one of the most retarded takes I ever heard.

"i do read mangas too..." (he doesn't, otherwise he would have already finished Berserk) "...but a lot of people doesn't. this anime i like to watch, is static like a comic, but it has voice acting and colours, so its like i'm watching and reading at the same times, which its fine by me!"

Is this how normies think?

"yeah, i know its shit, i don't care, i'm gonna lower my own standards and ignore your suggestions. stop being an asshole while i consoom my slop."

Btw, record of ragnarok is a pretty shit series, pretty much anything but the fight choreography (in the manga) and 5% of the character design is dogshit, the writer has no balls to mention christianity, so it does stuff like attributing to the greek pantheon stuff like Adam and Eve while still using A.D. to pinpoint dates.
Most prominently, fights follows the same template of having 2 action figures smashing against each other while everyone around watches (and comment) in awe, then a flashback is shown and they have a random power-up as a result.
The only time this retard template wasn't used was during the latest fight between the funny finnish sniper and Loki, which also sucked because the author lacks the creativity and intelligence to write a smart character and/or write down a reasonable way for him to get outsmarted by a farmer with a scopeless rifle.

So far Frieren s2 is good, if slow. Demons continue to be invariably evil and murderous no matter the circumstances*. They're even worse than orcs as they don't seem to be a physical thing but rather spirits of evil, seeing how they dissolve upon death. And yet, some morons complained in s1 that Frieren's treatment of demons will cause le racism with real races or something, derp. Almost as if there were people who were psychotically evil like these demons.

*Odd that they didn't die along with the Demon King. Maybe Frieren will have to slay his successor? Not that it matters for the overall plot.

About a third of the way through the Rave Master manga.

Pretty enjoyable so far, I only remember small snippets from watching the anime as a kid. It's almost refreshing to see something more...simple, I guess I could say. Something very late 1990s and early 2000s with the tropes that went with it. I think the worldbuilding is kinda lacking though, and things are usually said, not shown. Like the Demon Card is this globally spanning dark empire, but we never really see it. The most we get is they made dog races in one town really brutal, and one member of the group made it rain on a town for years on end, but even that was more for laughs since he was doing it to film a movie. Also sometimes things are a bit too convenient, like Elie, whose past is still not fully explained, was able to lead the group to a map that let them know exactly where to go next. The map is never explained, it just shows up, then vanishes. And before that, the group is seriously lacking funds, and they just so happened to stumble across a huge casino, saving its owner from thugs, and he uses his massive fortune to finance the heroes.

Still pretty fun overall, and I like Haru as a main character and how his sword gets new powers as the story goes on.

Talmudists exist, and they need total death just like the demons. Zoltraak.

Your brother is part of the problem.

God, why do so many of us have retarded siblings who put up with this shit?

Fate Strange Fake, people hyped the battle but it was meh.
* The weirdest part is Saber fighting Fake Archer despite the fact everyone was just fighting True Archer beforehand.
* How is Jack the Ripper summoned anyways? The whole point of servants like Medusa appeared because the grail was corrupted, but this is a new grail.
* The entire point of Berserker is +1 to all stats but can't be used for its full mental capabilities, Fake Berserker has none of this, he might as well be Caster.
* I'll get flak for it but Apocrypha's Jack was better, at least it had a sufficiently fucked up backstory to go with it and some fun noble phantasms. This Jack is overly complex for no reason.
* While I get the morality, most Magus will not think twice of killing a child that is going to kill every human in the city. Or at least explain that they are going to find another way rather than engage with a demi god with predictable results.
* Temu Kiritsugu literally does the "why nobody saved me when I was a child in danger", it's such an overused childish cliche.
* Isn't part of Gil's power is that each weapon he summons is a full strength noble phantasm? Now they might as well be kitchen knives.
* Isn't a point with servants that very rarely they'll have more than one noble phantasm?

Show is turning into something like Dragon Ball Z parody where fights are just the servants yelling their power at each other.

I refer to him as a normie.
Not the regular normie nind you, the kind of entitled normie who thinks he has aquired tastes while at the same time he sinks his face into the slop.
...
Yes he watches rick and morty and doesn't understand what's wrong with it, I did suggested him to watch Smiling Friends instead, he looked at me with a mixture of confusion and disgust.

Finished Pluto. It was good for what it was. The typical "What makes us human?" "Can an AI ever learn human emotions?" "Are AI the next step in human evaluation?" etc. Some good thought provoking questions here and there if you new into that kind of stuff.
Pluto really was fantastic, it is a bit of a shame that Atom himself appears in it so little, he's not even the star of it, really.

Gesicht was my favorite. Overall nice guy with some faults but he tries to up hold the law the best he can with his limited programing.

Finished the Spirit Circle manga and it was pretty good. Nothing mind blowing but it was a fun read. Its based around reincarnation so there's several stories of past lives to go through, which is a little bit of a slog. But now im in the mood for a proper romance manga, so ill pick something up.

But the art is cute. very kawaii.

how did powerscaliggers latch on to the nasuverse, which doesn't operate upon standards to scale at all
The character sheets literally have power scales. Also Shiki can kill servants.

Mizukami is always good for a fresh and original story.
