It's this character's birthday

Happy birthday king of the spineless slackers that whines to pity wins! Doraemon is a classic, though I mostly enjoy it when Nobita's schemes blow in his face after multiple warnings from best robo cat.

One thing though, whatever happened to the whole "doraemon ends and it was Nobita in a coma all along!!!", that shit spread everywhere and I'm convinced that it's just a creepy pasta seeing how Doraemon is still alive and well today.
For those that have been reading it, it seems that the Frieren manga is no longer on hiatus.
Good to know, I'm still going to ignore it exists, reading Frieren seems like it would be a hellish proposal so prefer to let them accumulate.
08th ms team is terrible.
We have a Gouf hater in our midsts...
Y'know, when I was reading Oshi no Ko, and got to the part where somebody decides that Mr Evil McMan must have faked his death because "it's a loophole!!" even though there's no evidence for it, just because he's just so evil, I thought to myself... wouldn't it be funny if it turned out he wasn't a bad guy after all, and it was all just a misunderstanding? After all there's literally nothing beyond circumstantial evidence that he was behind the stalker attacks. Good to hear they actually did that but, like, made it even more retarded. I woulda gone with, the stalker was the dad's friend but was someone the dad really shouldn't have trusted. But instead it's whatever the fuck this is, neat. Maybe later I'll go find some place that has the whole thing (Mangadex only has it up until the translator dropped it for being l*censed) and have a good wallow.
The only thing moving the series forward now is what overly dramatic twist it can go for, no matter the setup or if it makes sense. Best I can say is that it SEEMS it's backing off on the incest between Aqua and Ruby by having Kana and Aqua behonest about their feelings and the last chapter having Aqua and Ruby behave like siblings for once. It's pretty much in "lets see how hard it derails" mode. We already had the TWIST that Mr Evil McMan is NOT the final bad, it's an obsessed ex member of Ai's Idol troupe or some shit like that. I honestly don't know where this story can even go anymore.

Amusingly enough, Black Clover came back for a couple of chapters and I did enjoy them. Black Clover is the most shounen slop of shounen slop, but it does it's job well, never got to the points of seething hatred that Fairy Tail or Bleach ended up leaving me with. It's still by the numbers at best, but it does deliver the shounen premise consistently.

Didn't the guy still pump and dump their mom? Why would an ex member even try to kill their mother if she was a full year in hiatus which might as well be a death sentence for her career?

Kia Asamiya got harassed out of going to Comiket after receiving death threats for his Kantai Collection art not looking like every other 2010s waifu: https://boards.4chan.org/m/thread/22775632
The art looks beautiful, imo. The thread you linked though only mentioned one post that threatened him.
"Didn't catch all the action yesterday but here are definitely 2 Chinese accounts telling him to quit.
Things weren't that bad until 1 message from an English account saying the account owner will be at comiket hunting down Kia Asamiya.
Shortly afterwards Kia Asamiya posted he won't be participating this summer's comiket, and he has reported the incident to the police and his lawyer." Also wish there was an equivalent to comiket in the US.

Evil McMan was in puppy dog love, but Ai told him to fuck off by reminding him of his bastard son with the groomer. I don't remember if he was even aware that Ai was pregers at the start. Then after that he went psycho (there's still a dead actress in the mountains that nobody gives a shit about which was firectly killed by him and not indirectly lile doctor irrelevant and Ai).

But since he's handsome and "they can fix him", I expect some shitty redemption arc before the series finishes.

I do miss when fanservice was less autistic/gross, though. I don't know if I'm just memory holing shit but it seems like there was a lot LESS catering to nonces in the 80s-2000s and the fanservice consisted of just occasionally seeing some of the women nude and wasn't "Let's make fifty jokes this episode about the characters' tits". I look at stuff like City Hunter, Outlaw Star and compare it to what's on now and there is a definite difference.
To be entirely honest, I'm far more of a manga dude than an anime enjoyer as I largely prefer reading than watching. Not much a fan of anime adaptations as they tend to not reproduce well the artstyle of the source material (for obvious reasons) with the violence & eroticism both potentially neutered down depending of the time they're meant to be aired in Japan.

The City Hunter you mentioned in your post is a good example of this: the manga is not exactly shy on women peeping/harassment as well as blood/death on-screen, and I recall the anime was most often being its own thing with a large amount of OCs.

I gotta strongly disagree anyway because manga works like Bastard, Devilwoman and other Go Nagai titles, Love Hina, any Satoshi Urushihara, Golden Boy, Futari Ecchi, etc weren't much different from today's stuff such as Ayakashi Triangle, Mato Seihei no Slave and Isekai Meikyuu Harem.

The art looks beautiful, imo. The thread you linked though only mentioned one post that threatened him.

Twitter is a bad enough place these days by being polluted with random bot accounts so I'm also not surprised to see several Japanese artists limiting access of the comments section or making their profile private unless invited. There is even a new word slang to qualify that bot problem (インプレゾンビ - "Impression Zombies" as they keep coming back in numbers to earn "impression stats" no matter how much you block/mute them).

Also since @Sailor Troon didn't into archive, here ya go: https://archive.ph/hOBdr (4ch thread) / https://archive.is/jzKvp (Kia Asamiya announcement tweet)

I've noticed you can tell when the anime was doing a filler/OC episode because it wasn't a two-parter lol. I'm sure the anime toned down the sexual/peeping elements, I mean, that scene right there didn't outright show Ryo getting a boner that pins him to the ceiling, but it still heavily implies he does and it's still a funny scene.

I really need to sit and read the manga proper, just wanted to finish the anime before I do, it's just not something you can entirely binge. Still is really fun, I'm glad I picked up the DVDs when I did. I haven't gone looking for reviews on it and the like, so I don't know what people tend to say about it in terms of modern day shit while pretending they like it for being '80s. Like I'm assuming you have some chicks out there claiming it's a pro-feminist show because of all the kickass career women you see in the show and Kaori always beating up Ryo for being a pervert, but to me, it comes off more as pro-woman than pro-feminist. It's simply because yes, a good portion of them are able to take care of themselves and do great achievements on their own, but Ryo is still the hero at the end of the day whom they fall for only to be adults about it and take their newfound love/appreciation for him with them to the skies onto their next journey (this show loves ending adventures at the airport). Ryo loves the ladies without being a heartbreaker, and so that's why he essentially has a harem who choose to fawn after him from afar, and that might be because most of them are aware of Kaori's affections for him and don't want to further pursue that.

It's just what I've noticed, and I find that pretty refreshing.

Don't do anime. This is the most lolcow tier parody I have ever seen: :story:

Original:

Christ he's shilling that now too? Dude covers whatever's currently trending to get his own mediocre shit out there. That almost says more about the "quality" of the anime in question. I won't be touching lyme disease girl, just like I'll never touch pop team epic lol so random.

Kindov looks late 90s, maybe 2000s, right at the turn of the millennium. I do like Lex. But Godly Enterprise will forever be my shipfu.

Eh, nokotan is pretty self aware in a way that doesn’t break the comedic skits they are trying to do. It even calls itself a comedic gag anime and advertises itself as “brainrot”.

Pop team really is adhd zoomer slop with a breakneck pace and the rick & morty fans its attracted get super assblasted whenever people criticize it.

Scotty always had the best advice on loving a shipfu.

It's literally an animated adaptation of compiled 3 panel gag comics, I think that the pacing pretty much fits that format. the longer stuff in it is original material usually.

I'm surprised the kind of people I've seen online that glommed themselves onto it though but then again they do that with everything that gets even mildly popular. even if the actual media is full of the kind of jokes they try and ruin people's lives over.

Fucking RIP, it was breast cancer. Get yourselves checked often ladies 46 is way too young.
I don’t normally get choked up over these sorts of passings but Rachael’s really hits hard. She at least went peacefully from the sounds of it and did so knowing she’d made a positive impact on tons of people’s childhoods. She’ll always be my Misty and Jessie.

May her rest in peace. I remember when I was younger, I enjoyed a lot of Pokemon anime adaptation in dubs, especially Black and White (the only one I remember, and I sort of liked Iris as a character). She holds a very positive impact in my childhood, and will forever be carved into every childhood Pokemon fans that enjoys the anime adaptation dubs of Pokemon. The most iconic and irreplacable voice for Misty and Jessie. If there is someone out there that can do faith for her, good luck for the new voice actor.
