One dub or set of dubs I like is Fate. You know why? Most of the dub actors have been with the franchise since the Deen days in 06.
And far as I know, no one's died or retired to replace them yet. Being a Digimon fan is painful because 1) Toei keeps milking the shit out of Adventure and 2) on both sides of the Pacific a lot of the OGs are either retired (or unionized) or dead.

Toei milks every franchise it gets its hands on. And they make so much money. It does suck when a big cast of VA's start dying or can't do their roles anymore. That's basically Peter Cullen with Optimus Prime at this point. He's alive, but his voice is rough.

The Mexican dub of Digimon was the best.
The Toei Animation YouTube channel does weekend streams of Digimon, Magical Doremi and Saint Seiya (Caballeros del Zodiaco, if you're nasty) along with PreCure and Bobobo in both English and Spanish in case you need a sudden nostalgic dub fix:

Episode 5 down. Man, no wonder Gainax became a sacred cow when they went and pulled stunts like "Have the guy who got attacked by the internet so hard we had to let go of a studio founder and retool all of Gurren Lagann in response direct an entire half-episode in the most off-putting artstyle we could think of". Explains why people are so eager to handwave Kill La Kill's flaws and blame everyone but Gainax for Darling In The Franxx.
Please elaborate, I had no idea what histories these studios have, and if you what you say is true that does explain why fans overhype the shit out of anything they do.

Studio Gainax are the anime studio who made, among other shows: Daicon IV, Gunbuster, Otaku no Video, Nadia: Secret of Blue Water, Evangelion, FLCL, Gurren Lagann, and Panty & Stocking. Those three I bolded are among the most popular anime in history and are used to this day to onboard people into the medium, and the staff that worked on all these shows are revered as Great Men whose presence on another show's staff is nearly guaranteed to make casual and hardcore anime fans put those shows on their seasonal watchlists.

Gurren Lagann is the big thing to highlight with my post. When the show started airing on TV, lots of Japanese anime fans (posting from 2ch, the Japanese website that 4chan is modeled after) were bombarding it with criticism from the start thanks to its more simplistic designs and shading compared to the rest of what was coming out.
Then GL's fourth episode brought those criticisms to a frothing rage, as it was an entire episode animated with extremely unique and VERY off-model drawings and characters, with an extremely noticable and low-effort shot directing style to boot, all attributed to the episode director Osamu Kobayashi. The backlash to the episode provoked one of the original founders of Gainax, Takami Akai - the guy who signed off on the decisions to go with this loose, nearly-anything-goes approach to the show's artstyle that FLCL once used to immense critical success - to publicly complain that reading all the angry 2ch comments towards the show's animation was "like putting my face next to an anus and breathing deeply".
Of course, insulting your viewerbase is an act of career suicide that can take your whole company down with you, so Akai was immediately let go of Gainax once those comments became news - only five episodes into what ended up being a 27-episode TV show.

What I'm saying is that bringing back Kobayashi to do an episode of Panty & Stocking that was made unmistakably different from the rest of the show was an act of blatant spite to the audience and an attempt by Gainax to make amends to the director.

That's based as fuck. He was just poorly-implemented in Gurren Lagann, let's be honest here.

Subs just inherently have better voice acting because Japan has a much larger and robust pool of voice actors due to their industry being much larger by necessity. Remember, Japan doesnt just have to voice all of their anime but also dub every show from outside of Japan. American voice acting is a sparse industry as it is, nevermind dubbing for tv anime. There is a reason why a lot of the time localized anime films from Ghibli will have big actors do the roles and it isnt just for name recognition, the reality is that the quality of talent for the average dub is borderline amateur for a lot of the cast. That doesnt mean there arnt great voice actors floating around but from what I can tell thats the main issue with most dubs.

I watched the Filipino dub (maybe it was Animax?) of Digimon many years back when someone had uploaded it all to YouTube. It was amazing the amount of lulz my brothers and I had over it.
Now that you mention it

Imagine if Japan decides to make Philippines English dub the official English dub of their anime

Soo, anyone watched Night of the Living Cat? It's very dumb, a parody of the zombie apocalypse genre with cats, but it's rather funny. Anyone read the manga? It began around 2025 and it's still ongoing, but it doesn't look like a work it could be stretched forever.
You lucked the fuck out that the thread started sperging about subs vs dubs that no one called you out for saying “it began around 2025” like it’s not 2025 you fucking retard.

They really missed the opportunity for the family to say grace at dinner.
Bro, you're right. LOL. They could have done so much more with Fast and Furious. Last time was a Saving Private Ryan ripoff, now it was Fast and Furious.
But anyway that Star Wars Dojo parody was peak
It was. I'm glad they are keeping parody alive even in the modern day with gay ass copyright.

I was bored and watched all of Jujustu Kaisen. Then I read the manga from the Shibuya Incident arc until the ending. This is by far the worst manga I have ever read. I think even the author couldn't figure out if he was trying to rip-off Bleach or Naruto. The shear number of plot holes, asspulls, and mishandling of characters is staggering. The ending of Shingeki no Kyojin is somehow better than this terrible story. The Shinjuku Showdown and the Culling Game arcs are so bad and it's not even so bad that it's good either. Yet the manga is an 8.22/10 on MAL. Has anybody actually read this shit? It's worse than every other popular shonen series before, during, or since.
