So has China taken over anime yet

Considering that Chinese cartoons aren't at the point of making your TV/computer/BD-player catching fire when watching them like how their EVs and power banks do, no.

On another note, I notice that older OVA titles have the company logos in the introductions, as if they are important. When did that trend of company logos at the start die out with OVAs? And were those company logo intros also a thing with TV releases at the time?

When OVAs got taken over by hentai lol.

The company logos exist in credits of TV anime, though I think only Toei has theirs animated? But generally it's only for movies that you'll see them in the introductions anymore.

Pretty much. Earlier home video releases of TV shows often had logos of the companies at the start of those tapes. Reminded of this classic...

OVAs usually had the company logo before each episode because each OVA episode was originally sold separately.

Not that I minded company logos before each episode if the logo sequence was as glorious as the late 1980s through mid 1990s Bandai Emotion logo sequence.

Yet Mr. Beast's new anime has gotten 720k views

Face it - anime might not be so Japanese in the future

Hard to imagine having watched an anime back then without the ADV logo preceding it.

Apparently, we shouldn’t criticize it when Japanese studios cave in to Western demands for diversity and whatnot (as anime has always had LGBT characters and so forth).

These 'people' are as easy to read as an open book sometimes, aren't they?

it's funny because all the "woke" japanese stories are just their version of cheap edgy schlock

Faggotry is mostly still a highschool phase to them and is rightfully seen as sexual deviancy, trannies or whatever they call them are the equivalent of clowns, and tokens are tokens (it's fucking japan we're talking about here so they can't be anything else).

Tards really think you can watch a nation's media and think you know everything about their culture. For fuck's sake, if that were the case, Trump would've never been elected because obviously the US is 50% niggers, 30% spics, and 20% retarded white people who are all fags or trannies going by the latest nigflex tv show.

Japan has a political party unironically wanting Feudalism to come back.

That was what elevated Bandai out of their toy/model kit roots!

The first Captain Underpants book is getting a manga(?) adaptation.
That's real fucking random.

I'd take the chinks over the west at this point. At least the commies managed to make some decent shows like Mo Dao Zu Shi

This comment has been reviewed and approved by the Communist Party of China. +1 social credit score has been added. 🇨🇳

Donghua is becoming more and more profitable by the day.

In a couple years' time it'll stand neck to neck with anime - but I don't think it'll take its number one spot (anime is a more well-known term, more people grew up on it etc.)
