2026 manly tears. Caught up with episode 4, couldn't watch it last night. 3D Shin looks fucking abysmal. Heart's HIDEBU felt incredibly weak, _BUT_ they kept the original "pigs belong in a pigsty" line, which was censored in I think all earlier releases. I can shit on the animation quality all day long, but they seem extremely dedicated to being faithful to the manga, both in story and appearance.

And here's a stitched-up Ryuken.

One thing I'm curious about with the new FOTNS is if they're going to all of first half of the series, are they gonna stop at movies or are they aiming to do the full series with the batshit second half?

This week I read a manga that was pretty good. Fenrir. It is one f those manga that most people will never hear about and the subject is something quite unusual.

It is about Chinggis Khan. But there is a scifi theme since he encounters a metal fluid alien that fell down from the skies that helps him see then future. It kinda paints him as a soft boy who wants to unite the mongol tribes. The cool twist is that there is another dude who in japanese circles has the theory that Minamoto no Yoshitsune went to Mongolia and became Chinggis Khan. However here they fight each other since Minamoto also encountered the same kind of alien that Khan did.

The art reminds me of Ran and the Grey World. Quite cool read and relatively short.

I've never looked into it but can someone explain why leftist and other people who'd be waving the gay nigga flag all love "witch hat atelier"?

I've never watched the thing but I'd venture to guess based on the name that it involves little girls. And that's probably your answer.
Ive read the name frequently but never engaged, but saw it was a seasonal anime so I picked it up. So far there arent any weird pedo vibes, but female prepubescent apprentice(s) and older male master doesnt really make me too optimistic.

An adult man offering guidance and mentorship to children sounds like the kind of thing libshits would hate. Even if there are pedo vibes, it sounds like they'd be straight pedo vibes.

Rewatching Sailor Moon. I'm in the R season. I used to hate the doom tree arc but its honestly very interesting. I despise Super S and Stars. The way they wrote the Starlights was enough to even piss Her Majesty off because she questioned why they were gender bent and stealing so much screentime. Super S could have been saved by having the outers in from the get-go.

Dark Kingdom, Black Moon Clan, and Death Busters are so much cooler than the Dead Moon Circus and Shadow Galactica.

I don't want to admit it but Her Majesty is.....a bad writer? Like don't get me wrong I totally understand how stressful her job was and I'm not counting her dispute with Toei. But the manga is......all over the place especially Stars.

Finished Saint Seiya Rerise of Poseidon.

Saint Seiya may be the most bloated timeline ever made. Every new manga or spinoff is set between one arc or another.

Nah man they've been liking it before this stuff. There's gotta be something in the actual manga content itself that is resonating with these retards, and I don't really have it in me to start reading it atm to find out why.

I'm about 2/3rds of the way through it, and the narrative throughline is pretty much humans have an intrinsic ability to follow their dreams, held back only by knowledge. Body shifters & furries that violate the natural state are lonely and mentally ill. There's some teasing that the MC might go to the body shifter side for the sake of de-transitioning people.

There's some concessions for black characters and a homo subplot, so it might be JK Rowling all over again.

So, kind of HP with touches of Made in Abyss Japanese-style, then? The art is excellent, but the wokeness you mention soudns bad (funnily enough woketards once again ignore the plot stating that being a freak is bad).

It's been a while since I read the manga but the 90s anime did her a lot of favors, especially when it came to fleshing out the characters.
