I mean without the negative attention, what could they even possibly do? Murder suicide? They would just be sitting, alone, in a basement talking to no one, bleeding out more and more money and unable to do anything (not only because they lack the funds but because they have no hobbies, no friends, nothing to do together). They have no personalities and Anus actively resents Ian (who is barely even a person) so it's not like they could entertain themselves let alone each other.
