Thanks to those upthread mentioning those were supposed to be shared platters. Thought so but wasn’t sure.
This surgery is I think, bothering her more than the previous ones. I’d missed that she was having calves and arms done as part of the same procedure. I don’t know but think the calves will be more uncomfortable than the thighs were. Pain wise, the arms are going to be a nightmare. Lack of use for a time will also be a huge problem.
Let’s play this through a day to understand potential issues;
She wakes up and needs to get up to pee, at least. She needs her arms to hoist herself up to a sitting position and maybe to stand up. Is her hired nurse strong enough to help her without injuring herself?
She hits the bathroom and will need someone to pull her pants down and make sure she sits properly on the toilet. Wiping may require help and pulling pants back up certainly will, as will heaving her up from the toilet.
She’ll need help showering or a whore bath.
Getting her dressed, especially with compression, will be a nightmare.
Have no idea about post op dressings and care; retired too long ago to pretend to be current.
No idea what she plans to do the first few days of recovery. Probably not a whole lot but she will have to get up and move around a number of times, even if only as far as the bathroom. She really needs to do more than that but she is a far higher than normal fall risk.
She’ll need help with meals, maybe even need to be fed for a few days.
As a retired surgical nurse albeit with not many arm procedures, I know and remember post op fatties are at a much greater risk of most complications and I’m talking about what today we’d call small fats. I can’t imagine the added risk for her AND any hired staff.
She’s the type of patient who genuinely needs a real bitch of a nurse to intimidate her into doing what needs doing. Ideally, a couple of nurses to cover a 24 hour period.
The timing of her video makes me think this was surgery day. Be curious about when we first see signs of life from her.
