I am seventh in a series where the first two are always nothing
Three of my outings were gold
With a name like mine, you might think I study birds
I always return

Who am I?

EDIT: This seems to have stumped people (I imagine the line about studying birds is throwing people off). I'll say this: you've definitely heard of this guy.

If people still have not gotten it in six hours, I'll post another hint. Or if three people say "I give up" I'll post the answer.

EDIT 2: Okay, some hints:
It's a famous fictional character who is--or at least used to be--incredibly famous in the movie world. Fans of the Nintendo 64 will definitely have heard of him.

Wow, a whole day and nobody got my riddle?

I asked it of some people offline too and one person got it as soon as he heard the first line.

The answer is James Bond.

"Seventh in a series where the first two are always nothing." His code number is 007.

"Three of my appearances were golden." Goldfinger, Man With The Golden Gun, and GoldenEye.

"My name sounds like I study birds" is probably the line that threw a lot of people if I had to guess... novelist Ian Fleming, who created James Bond, actually named him after a guy who wrote a book about birds.

"I always return." Because at the end of each movie they always say "James Bond Will Return."

Okay so... NEW RIDDLE.

BTW offline some people wondered if I was asking for the name of a specific game/movie or the name of a person on my last riddle so I'll just say: its the name of a person. You can use either their real name or a well-known nickname/stage handle/youtube name (if they have one).
