Careercow Anthony "Ally" Burch - Cuck. Bummed out ev'ryday his parents are alive.

Why? The dude is toxic, a terrible writer, bad at his job, and extremely obnoxious,

What a terrible pairing. I wonder if this is a result of his sister and her connections.

Finding out Zoe Quinn also got another writing deal with IDW for an Addam's Family comic is just as crushing. The two aren't friends, and apparently hate each other, but two talentless "weird twitter" cunts getting work when they both suck so much is really sad news.
It's simple:
Both people who work in an industry (games, comics, etc.), and journalists who cover that industry are gonna naturally get along.

I'm sure if you're a small creator that's sociable enough, even if you're shit, you can make valuable connections with people in high positions. So if they need a writer on a project they can come to you, who they know and like, instead of some random nobody. Then, your journalist friends can hype you up and help sell it. It works extra well if you have the same political affiliations as them.

I left the tab open on that /co/ thread to pick out the best posts, it boiled down to some moderately insightful thoughts:

Also someone remembered and pointed out why John Carpenter & Anthony Burch would be working together in the first place, they had just written a comic sequel to the Big Trouble in Little China movie:

It’s insulting to actual comics artists and writers who’ve been trying to break in and these cunts get handed projects based on being notorious assholes and not for their work product (since it sucks).

Not if the "journalists" are actually doing their jobs. If both sets of people are doing their jobs, the industry should hate and fear the journalists.

I heard absolutely no one talk about this comic once it came out. I actually completely forgot about it.

Has anybody read this?

Anyone ever read the last issue of The Eltingville Club? In that, a character talks about his intention to worm his way into DC despite not being a writer and only semi-literate. His idea being just to hang around people related to that industry until he slips by enough people where he's considered "in".

That's how Anthony gets work. They realize he was a "videogame writer", regardless of whether or not that writing was terrible or not. His relationship to a very popular Ash would only also be a plus for him.He was just around when the time came to make the book.

So a while back Anthony Burch apparently did a book on MGS. I downloaded a sample on my kindle and it was pretty bad

Actual excerpt from the description:

The only problem: Ashly and Anthony grew up but their all-time favorite video game didn't. After nearly two decades, Metal Gear Solid's once-innovative stealth mechanics seem outdated, the cutscenes have lost some of their action movie punch, and the game's treatment of women is often out of touch. Witness a celebration/takedown of this landmark game with the combination of insight and hilarity that Ashly and Anthony have made their careers on.

Not dumbing your post, dumbing the content of that cancer-inducing description. Spectacularly obnoxious and fake.

And wow, taking down MGS what a bold and fresh stance on a game made by a Jap obsessed with North American action movies from the 80s.

Wait, they both worked on this thing?
