Careercow Anthony Cumia - A once successful radio host crashes and burns, turning on all his fans and the drama around it

Patrice was notoriously difficult to work with by his own admission and he just didn’t have the draw or the clout to justify dealing with him. That’s why I never believed he was ever on the cusp of mainstream success many like to think. He was given many chances in the 2000s and found a reason to fuck it up every time.

Patrice also blew off a speaking roll in a Spike Lee movie or "Joint" (cool cat speak for film) because Spike didn't want to liase with his agent and just cast him straight away.
Correct, and he did the right thing staying with his system. As he said in that story: had he hooked up with Spike Lee, he would have a career and he would have made a million dollars, but he would owe.

I strongly and respectfully disagree. I think that Patrice would have had success in the current era because he was never afraid to say the things you're not supposed to say, he had no bridges left to burn, and thus nothing to lose. No one would have been able to stop Patrice because he would always have his handlers whose relationship with him was extremely straightforward. There was nothing that anyone could take away from Patrice to hurt him, which was literally how he set up his entire business.

Patrice also had the gang rape baggage from his teens he told the whole story on the show, and being smuggled out of Boston in a car trunk. It’s hard to believe he’d have supported metoo or been allowed into the Hollywood club.
The fact that he survived a false rape claim would have made him instantly suspicious of the Me Too shit - especially because he knew just how vile so many Hollywood people were. If it was some crafts services people leading the charge, Patrice would probably listen a little more. When it was actresses who sat by and let the Harvey Weinsteins do their thing, and probably fucked the Weinsteins themselves, he would have had a problem.

By Patrice's own admissions he really didn't want massive success. He was happy with being the big fish in the little pond. He never wanted the tv show or movie deal. So, I don't see him becoming a big star if he had lived only because he never wanted it.

There's more to it, and I believe he talked about it on Jay Mohr's podcast, or Maron's. Patrice was in LA for pilot season at the time, and actively trying to get his foot in the door. Spike Lee, was working on a project with SHOWTIME. Patrice did NOT want to burn the bridge with Spike, because Patrice, refused to work with Showtime again after his first comedy special on there so, he kept telling Spike, he should be talking to his agent so his agent could tell Spike, "Patrice can't do it, he has other obligations right now.". Spike ignored it, Patrice eventually had to tell him he can't and Spike never called him for work again.

Patrice didn't fuck this up. Spike fucked it up because he refused to follow his own industry's etiquette.

He appreciated his ceiling fan, and would stop at nothing to make sure no one could ever come and take his ceiling fan away.

I think no one really knows how Patrice would act if he were alive today, he could have been cancelled or he could be the biggest movie star in the world today.

He could have worked with Anthony or blew him off. You never really know! (Do you like my boring middle of the road take?)
Ehhh what do we know? We got our containers of coffee and a toolbelt and it is what it is, dude.

Patrice was famously "pro nigga", I feel like if he existed how he was in 2006 in 2026, people who look back fondly on him now would resent him as much or more than they do Burr for "going woke". Yeah, he pointed out when niggers would nig, but he wasn't a "Well, maybe they SHOULD behave!" type of guy. He'd have been rabidly pro BLM at its peak, and maybe he would have defended Anthony's race talk, but he'd definitely have defended the rioting.

He'd have a following, but I don't think it'd be much bigger than what he had at his peak.

I understood Patrice's anti-white racism and I appreciated its bluntness. He would have defended the rioting, but he would have done so in a far more honest and less commie way than BLM. "Yeah, nigga, it's revenge!" I don't agree with it but I would take that long before I take the CNN chirons calling it peaceful and joyful while cities are on fire on the screen.

Since there is no Danny thread, he has been on a current streak of going after fans and being ripped apart on o&aforums over Steve C (who has been dead for 13 years)...

If he kept speaking truth to power - he absolutely would be stopped. One of those "oh wow you're banned from <everything>, what a weird glitch" people like Kiwi Farms, Alex Jones, Kanye West, Russel Brand, etc. He probably would get shadow banned from clubs eventually and wander off instead of putting in effort.

Since there is no Danny thread
There's barely enough interest for an O&A thread - literally no one cares about Danny (to a point where Danny is on the forum arguing with people).
