Pretty comprehensive article for those interested, a bunch of leftists are charged with forming a criminal organization and attacking over a dozen people deemed "far-right" who suffered broken bones from beatings with hammers. Usually the state doesn't care about antifa attacks but in this case they were life-threatening and it wasnt one off case so they were forced to act. A video of one of the attacks here where antifas fractured a woman's skull with repeated beatings with a baton, attacking her in her workplace at a clothing shop. Key witness in the case against the leftist is a former member who left because of a rape in the group. Leftists and rape, name more iconic duo.

Back with more insanity from Canada. More specifically, from the Canadian government's own taxpayer and Bank of Montreal (change institutions if you don't want your fees funding this shit) subsidized NKVD, the Canadian Anti-Hate Network. You'll find previous posts on them by BethanyLutheran and myself up thread. There's some stuff here that fellow canucks will likely already be familiar with, but considering the media is hesitant to cover them outside of a few articles here and there (who can blame them, the human rights lawyer on their board is fond of SLAPPs against librairies, conspiracy theorists, and journalists who criticize him), but it's important that this information be put out there.
First a quick update on how Bernie Farber's career is going after he was caught spreading misinformation about the Trucker Protest. He's now part of Dear Leader's expert advisory group on online safety tasked with helping the government root out "harm" caused by misinformation online. That same advisory panel has advised that "misinformation" should be covered by proposed hate laws. Only in Canada, guys.
Recall that this group received a rather large grant (more than most Canadians make in a year) from the federal government, which imposed a quota on the amount of articles they were to write for that year. With the dearth of actual dangerous fascists in Canada, they stooped to going after feminists, a palestinian-Canadian lawyer, a man who went across canada wearing a billboard that reads "kids can't consent to puberty blockers", among others. Nothing about the Imam at the liberal party funded event who has preached that homosexuals should be killed and made vile and hateful remarks about Jews, however.
They're also using this new trend of journos complaining about people sending them mean e-mails to push for tougher online censorship:

Let's talk about about their recent Anti-Hate Toolkit, a Canadian version of Mao's "Little Red Book" that encourages teachers to engage in struggle sessions with children. National Post Columnist Jamie Sarkonak wrote an article and a short tweet thread on this booklet, so let's start there.
Jamie goes over a few pieces of the booklet here. Note the vague language ("problematic politician or policy") and redefinition of terms. "Political Correctness" for "Basic respect for others", as opposed to what it actually is - a cudgel that the wealthy (like Evan Balgord) use to brow-beat the yobs into mental submission.
Now, to be fair, it looks like they changed the wording "problematic politician or policy" (see below), but the vagueness here was clearly be design. These are people who have called CPC hopeful Pierre Poilievre some variation of problematic despite his being only a few steps to the right of Jean Chrétien. People have called a number of establishment CPC politicians like Andrew Scheer, king of wet blankets, problematic for saying "hi" to protestors at the trucker protest. The goal is to give the activist educator as much leeway as possible to punish your kid for wrongthink. Does your kid have concerns about the very high rates of visa fraud in Canada? Struggle session. Kid likes the cut of Poilievres jib? Struggle Session. Kid concerned about the thing that never happens (see CAHN's denial of this phenomenon here)? Struggle session.
It's also worth noting that they put supporting border controls (kind of a necessity for any sovereign nation, no?) or "problematic politicians" like Poilièvre (again, lmao) or the perhaps the leader of the Purple Party Which Shall Not Be Named in the same category as a so-called "Hitler salute" or racist slur. This is, again, by design. They're trying to associate more moderate positions that they disagree with (that is to say ones to their political right, which includes centrists) with big scary natsees and big scary slurs. This is a pretty classic propaganda technique. The Nazis did this with communism and world jewry. Stalin did this with Poles and feudal lords. The goal is to "other", dehumanize and vilify the perceived enemy, with the ultimate aim being weaponizing both the banking system and the state against them (as we saw with the trucker protest).
The little snipped above having been discussed, let's move on to the rest of the booklet. But before that, just so you're clear on what they mean when they talk about hate symbols, something that comes up a lot in this booklet, take a look at what the Hatepedia considers hate symbols. Note that Hatepedia also receives taxpayer money and shares writers with the CAHN.
That detour aside, let's move on.
Not off to a good start here. From what I understand, a significant portion of this booklet is lifted directly from material from the Western States Centre. CAHN received a grant to the tune of 200K to produce this, and most of it isn't even original. A waste of my fucking tax money if ever there was one.
Here we see the CAHN suggesting that blocking critical infrastructure is OK if the protest aligns with establishment approved causes (though not necessarily government approved because for all the grand standing he does about indigenous issues, Dear Leader couldn't really be fucked if there's no photo-op involved.):
Here we have the CAHN suggest that hate-promoting slogans, iconography, or materials in general should be called out by teachers. On the surface, this seems fine. When I was in high school, you'd obviously get in shit for wearing a swastika on your shirt. The issue is what constitutes a hate symbol. I say the following as someone who considers themselves pretty pro-choice: the CAHN considers graphic anti-abortion materials hate speech. Obscene? Yes. Gross? Yes. Shocking? Yes. Hate speech? No. Further, do you trust an activist teacher not to pull your kid into a struggle session for making a nuanced argument against late-term abortion? I don't. They also think horn honking to be hate speech, by the way.
I feel especially bad for teenagers into heavy metal in Current Year+6, since a lot of band t-shirts are edgy-on-purpose and, let's be real here, calling everything fascist is no different than bible belt evangelists calling everything satanic during the PMRC years.
Now there are bad actors out there who form "white students unions" as a way to try and recruit people into far-right groups, sure. But I can easily see some pink-haired harpie teacher, or even a communist entryist like Scott Piatkowski (who fired a black teacher from the board of trustees in their district for wrong think) pulling my kid into a struggle session over wanting to start promote a Saint Andrews Day event for being "racist colonial whitewashing" or some other stupid commie shit.
This is generally fair, but "white supremacist" is a label thrown around quite liberally by people these days. Our first PM, though far from perfect (he was really shitty to natives, though those views were common among men of his time) has been called a white supremacist (CAHN supports erasing him from history). A teenager submitted an essay to a contest arguing in favour of supports for families with children, this was called fascist and white supremacist. Yes, I will concede some of the views on women are kind of antiquated and shitty, but the author herself is a literal child and it's certainly not white supremacist lmao.
This is the one that Jamie Sarkonak mentioned above that appears to have been changed since she brought attention to it. They tried to make it more black and white, but it's still trying to link contrarian opinions about public events to a hitler salute. Imagine stifling a kid's opinions about January 6 or COVID 19 because the opinion is different than the narrative in the media. Also, lol @ using the disgraced SPLC as a reputable source for anything lmao (reminder that CAHN was founded with seed funding from the SPLC).
A few things to unpack here, I'll go down the list.
1. Whites are literally the only group who are not allowed to act in their own self interest for fear of being socially ostracized, fired from their job (taking food of their family's table), and publicly shamed, even if this is done innocuously. As much as these people deny it, pride is not the same as hate.
2. There are indeed reasonable limits on free speech. Threats of violence, calls to violence, the proverbial "FIRE!" in a crowded theater, even laws against fraud are a form of limit on free speech. That said, expressing contrarian opinions (and let it be known that I'm not even talking about racism which is completely fine to scold a child over, but about all the shit that the CAHN and the activist teachers this is aimed at consider to be white supremacist, racist, and evil but in reality is not (promotion of healthy traditional families, support for border controls, concerns about public health tyranny, etc). They've even suggested that advocating for the suspected mass-grave of indigenous kids be dug up so that evidence could be collected is genocide denial. This is a free speech issue. It's always a free speech issue. The thing is, they want the average urbanite smoothbrain to fear unfettered exchange of ideas. The CAHN is even on record as saying that more free speech is bad (lmao, see spoiler below), but they're wrong. More speech is good, actually.

4. There is no such thing as reverse racism, they're right about that. It's actually just called racism! Ask any white kid who went to high school in some of Toronto's... less pleasant neighbourhoods if they've ever been attacked, swarmed, or insulted because of the colour of their skin. Evan wouldn't know this, being a rich kid who probably didn't see his first black person until he went to university, but that's OK.
5. Racism isn't over, but it's social and career suicide to be racist in public in Canada lmao.
"Irony poisoned" is a word that gets thrown around a lot, similar to stochastic terrorism. Like the soviet term "sluggish schizophrenia". A propaganda tactic meant to paint teens who make edgy jokes as right wing extremists. When Christians had institutional control, kids rebelled by pretending to be satanists and consuming things like satanic heavy metal. Now that the left has institutional control, obviously kids are going to rebel by pushing the limits of acceptable speech.
The mention of the Heritage Front here is quite funny because HF was co-founded by a CSIS agent named Grant Bristow. Elizabeth Moore, who is on the CAHN board of directors is an ex-member. Taxpayers funded CAHN just like they did the Heritage Front.
Rumours of Non-Partisanship (May) Have Been Greatly Exagerated:
CAHN proudly boasts on their website and twitter that they are non-partisan.
They might actually be as an organization, despite their clear left-wing bias.
That being said, there are some loose threads here and there that weave a picture that insinuates that their Executive Director might actually have a direct link to a sitting member of cabinet, which at the very least casts a bit of doubt on this non-partisanship claim. This is not disclosed anywhere in any of their materials. If there's a Kiwi here who knows or knew Evan Balgord personally, please feel free to elaborate on this. Keep in mind this is all alleged and circumstantial. Regardless, here's what gives me this impression:
Evan's LinkedIn, besides indicating that he attended a pretty expensive private school called MacLachlan College, indicates that he worked for a candidate for federal parliament in 2013:

This jogged a memory from an earlier post of mine in which I shared antifa activist Kevin Metcalf's telling of his experience meeting Evan. This tweet in particular stands out:

Not off to a good start here. From what I understand, a significant portion of this booklet is lifted directly from material from the Western States Centre. CAHN received a grant to the tune of 200K to produce this, and most of it isn't even original. A waste of my fucking tax money if ever there was one.
Here we see the CAHN suggesting that blocking critical infrastructure is OK if the protest aligns with establishment approved causes (though not necessarily government approved because for all the grand standing he does about indigenous issues, Dear Leader couldn't really be fucked if there's no photo-op involved.):
Here we have the CAHN suggest that hate-promoting slogans, iconography, or materials in general should be called out by teachers. On the surface, this seems fine. When I was in high school, you'd obviously get in shit for wearing a swastika on your shirt. The issue is what constitutes a hate symbol. I say the following as someone who considers themselves pretty pro-choice: the CAHN considers graphic anti-abortion materials hate speech. Obscene? Yes. Gross? Yes. Shocking? Yes. Hate speech? No. Further, do you trust an activist teacher not to pull your kid into a struggle session for making a nuanced argument against late-term abortion? I don't. They also think horn honking to be hate speech, by the way.
I feel especially bad for teenagers into heavy metal in Current Year+6, since a lot of band t-shirts are edgy-on-purpose and, let's be real here, calling everything fascist is no different than bible belt evangelists calling everything satanic during the PMRC years.
Now there are bad actors out there who form "white students unions" as a way to try and recruit people into far-right groups, sure. But I can easily see some pink-haired harpie teacher, or even a communist entryist like Scott Piatkowski (who fired a black teacher from the board of trustees in their district for wrong think) pulling my kid into a struggle session over wanting to start promote a Saint Andrews Day event for being "racist colonial whitewashing" or some other stupid commie shit.
This is generally fair, but "white supremacist" is a label thrown around quite liberally by people these days. Our first PM, though far from perfect (he was really shitty to natives, though those views were common among men of his time) has been called a white supremacist (CAHN supports erasing him from history). A teenager submitted an essay to a contest arguing in favour of supports for families with children, this was called fascist and white supremacist. Yes, I will concede some of the views on women are kind of antiquated and shitty, but the author herself is a literal child and it's certainly not white supremacist lmao.
This is the one that Jamie Sarkonak mentioned above that appears to have been changed since she brought attention to it. They tried to make it more black and white, but it's still trying to link contrarian opinions about public events to a hitler salute. Imagine stifling a kid's opinions about January 6 or COVID 19 because the opinion is different than the narrative in the media. Also, lol @ using the disgraced SPLC as a reputable source for anything lmao (reminder that CAHN was founded with seed funding from the SPLC).
A few things to unpack here, I'll go down the list.
1. Whites are literally the only group who are not allowed to act in their own self interest for fear of being socially ostracized, fired from their job (taking food of their family's table), and publicly shamed, even if this is done innocuously. As much as these people deny it, pride is not the same as hate.
2. There are indeed reasonable limits on free speech. Threats of violence, calls to violence, the proverbial "FIRE!" in a crowded theater, even laws against fraud are a form of limit on free speech. That said, expressing contrarian opinions (and let it be known that I'm not even talking about racism which is completely fine to scold a child over, but about all the shit that the CAHN and the activist teachers this is aimed at consider to be white supremacist, racist, and evil but in reality is not (promotion of healthy traditional families, support for border controls, concerns about public health tyranny, etc). They've even suggested that advocating for the suspected mass-grave of indigenous kids be dug up so that evidence could be collected is genocide denial. This is a free speech issue. It's always a free speech issue. The thing is, they want the average urbanite smoothbrain to fear unfettered exchange of ideas. The CAHN is even on record as saying that more free speech is bad (lmao, see spoiler below), but they're wrong. More speech is good, actually.

4. There is no such thing as reverse racism, they're right about that. It's actually just called racism! Ask any white kid who went to high school in some of Toronto's... less pleasant neighbourhoods if they've ever been attacked, swarmed, or insulted because of the colour of their skin. Evan wouldn't know this, being a rich kid who probably didn't see his first black person until he went to university, but that's OK.
5. Racism isn't over, but it's social and career suicide to be racist in public in Canada lmao.
"Irony poisoned" is a word that gets thrown around a lot, similar to stochastic terrorism. Like the soviet term "sluggish schizophrenia". A propaganda tactic meant to paint teens who make edgy jokes as right wing extremists. When Christians had institutional control, kids rebelled by pretending to be satanists and consuming things like satanic heavy metal. Now that the left has institutional control, obviously kids are going to rebel by pushing the limits of acceptable speech.
The mention of the Heritage Front here is quite funny because HF was co-founded by a CSIS agent named Grant Bristow. Elizabeth Moore, who is on the CAHN board of directors is an ex-member. Taxpayers funded CAHN just like they did the Heritage Front.
Rumours of Non-Partisanship (May) Have Been Greatly Exagerated:
CAHN proudly boasts on their website and twitter that they are non-partisan.
They might actually be as an organization, despite their clear left-wing bias.
That being said, there are some loose threads here and there that weave a picture that insinuates that their Executive Director might actually have a direct link to a sitting member of cabinet, which at the very least casts a bit of doubt on this non-partisanship claim. This is not disclosed anywhere in any of their materials. If there's a Kiwi here who knows or knew Evan Balgord personally, please feel free to elaborate on this. Keep in mind this is all alleged and circumstantial. Regardless, here's what gives me this impression:
Evan's LinkedIn, besides indicating that he attended a pretty expensive private school called MacLachlan College, indicates that he worked for a candidate for federal parliament in 2013:

This jogged a memory from an earlier post of mine in which I shared antifa activist Kevin Metcalf's telling of his experience meeting Evan. This tweet in particular stands out:

You would think they would disclose this, because honestly, the fact that the Executive Director of an organization receiving taxpayer funds, whose Chair was found spreading misinformation about the Trucker Protest, has a direct link not only to a sitting member of cabinet, but the Deputy Prime Minister of a government that used this misinformation as part of it's pretext for invoking the Emergencies Act is concerning.

China is economically mercantilist but culturally marxist. It's a thing), but definitely not economically marxist. If that were the case Balgord, Warman, Farber and the lot them would be considered kulaks, most likely.

People have this inborn tendency to view their enemies as a monolithic entity, but in fact leftists are the most infighting people imaginable, every country has like 12 (not kidding) communist parties because they just don't get along. In Spanish civil war the anarchists killed communists, and Stalinist Spaniards and Trotskyists killed one another, and they even had commissars come from USSR to perpetrate mass killings of people nominally on their own side. In Homage to Catalonia Orwell wrote how his POUM militia was targeted by his supposed fellow communists.
