A lot of these people just grow up to become libs or Democrats like Angela Davis. Very few of them ever go full retard, and start burning babies alive like the Shining Path did.

There are a lot of angles you could analyze from, but I'll share some thoughts of my own. In the West, communism was always going to abandon the working class because the WC had things too good and knew that they had nothing to gain from the bolshies. Enter Lumpenproles. These are theives, beggars, whores, murderers, etc. The lowest of the low, both in traditional society and traditional communism. Marx and Lenin saw them as downtrodden, useful footsoldiers of the revolution, but ultimately needed to be forced to work or be exterminated. Western communism shifted to focus on them in the '60s/'70s. The KGBTQ+ and various resentful browns slot into this nicely, and thus intersectionality is born. Lumpenproles can be basic standard, or can be champagne lumpenproles (think breadtubers). At anyrate, there's a sort of genius to it. Anybody can claim to be a prole now just by saying that they're some variety of queeroid. It's something that was impossible in traditional communism.

The richer trust-fundy ones spend all day in the university cafe listening to boho indy music, writing/debating theory, printing shitty zines and manifestos (fun to read for a laugh; you can find a lot on Archive), and might go to a few protests, but would only ever do anything truly violent in a Blue city, fully masked up in black bloc, knowing that mommy will bail them out, or they'll get a tenth of a slap on the wrist.

A couple weeks ago I watched some react vid of a "tour" through a recently evicted commie home. I could smell it through the screen. Even Asmongold would die from the miasma.

Those types go back home within a year or two after they're threatened to be cut off unless they pick up a serious drug habit from one of the crusties. The ride or die ones will stay in their flop houses until they die of overdose, untreated Hepatitus/HIV or commit suicide.
