One thing I thought really strange was this symbol, the weird faux-swastika looking triangle. A buddy of mine and myself decided to do a little digging, and found something strange. This symbol comes from 'Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging,' a white supremacist group from South Africa which started from Nazis and Nazi sympathizers who had moved to the region. So much weird shit around this guy.

It's a triskelion, which much like the swastika is an ancient symbol only fairly recently appropriated by extremist groups. The vexillology thread probably features a few of these, but a famous one is this rather creepy one that is the flag of Sicily.

Discord has less of an attack vector even for the federal government. If they're using good VPNs and accounts that are unlinked to any device that can be traced back to them, it makes the job of the LEO much harder.

I agree with you on the idea that the core problem are the degenerates themselves, but not on the idea that certain platforms aren't also a problem.

I agree entirely that platforms should try to do more, but I think that's ultimately a fools errand and tends to hurt innocent users more than people realize. It's like trying to sanitize a nightclub, all you're going to do is piss off normal users and fail at your goal because you're creating an oxymoron. So long as predators and children are on the internet, the two will gravitate towards each other. The best move has to be removing both from the internet and let the adults be free among each other.

That being said, I think Roblox in particular is one of the worst causes of fraud in recent history due to their claim of being safe for children while putting in less than excellent effort. Roblox just as a company shouldn't exist in my opinion for the same reason that a "children's bar" shouldn't exist: you're trying to mix two things together that will only lead to problems. The entire platform's model should be shut down or re-orientated towards an neutral or adult market.

Discord on the other hand is just a chatting application and I wouldn't even argue is marketed towards children (although they are tolerant of them and should change that rule). It's as much of a victim of circumstance as soyjak.party, 4chan, or any other neutral platform tends to be. They can't moderate everything and realistically shouldn't be expected to. The sheer amount of content that passes through big services makes the task nigh impossible. This isn't to say that these platforms are free to just not try, but I think the current moderation activity they do is unfortunately adequate for the problem at hand.

Even if you support requiring Government IDs to sign up, which is just begging for trouble since now the government can easily find out if you're doing things they don't like online, you're going to have the issue where a parent, who doesn't care, just lets a child use their account or some sub-account so that they can play on the IPad while mommy doom-scrolls TikTok. All you need then is just some hijacked accounts, stolen IDs, or fake IDs for some predator to get access again. The problem is cultural. Idiot parents and society want children online. No matter how many layers of protection you put there, people will pursue children online so long as it is seen as okay, if not good, for it to happen.

People just forget that you can create an account on anything with a phone number and a router restart. Ban evasion is piss-easy and playing wack-a-mole with a dedicated predator is hard. Even Facebook had to hire a malware developer to get rid of one of their worst.

You can't law your way out of this problem. Without significant restructuring of how the internet works, you can't technology your way out of it to. The only reasonable tool at this point is for moral norms to catch up to the internet existing, but given how loose and uncaring about morality people are these days, I see it as unlikely, but still worth trying.
