The comic does its relationship narrative well. The movie, while having plenty of good moments and nice symbolic foreshadowing, would have benefited from devoting a film to the adaptation of a graphic novel in the series.
...or just being an animation. Hell, let's kick off the practice of animating graphic novel series verbatim in the West.

I'd say it did more to ruin men than women. Every weeb faggot I knew was into this dumb shit. It was basically Buffy the Vampire Slayer for boys as far I was concerned.
