I’d highly recommend playing the Old Course, if you ever have the opportunity. By far the most unique course I’ve ever played. The wind was absolutely brutal too.

Didn't fully update the thread. Some things popped up but I had some good improvements this year. So I guess I will list them out here since I have about 3 weekends left in the season.

-Improved driving distance and accuracy. For the most part, it carries 250 and will have a slight draw on things.
-Solid iron contact and improved distance. My 200 yard club went from a 4 iron to a 6 iron and my 150 club can be a 9 iron or pitching wedge depending on certain conditions
-Much more solid wedge numbers. Half swings, full swings, and grip strength have better improved my distances. Still need to work on accuracy of wedges and targets to aim at but distance control has been solid. Will probably need to recalibrate at the start of next season but the range is there.
-Much better from 5-50 yards out. Had to work on it for a bit but I have a completely different wedge shot from 50 yards and in which turned out to be exactly what I needed. I would end up in these situations where I am 25 to 35 yards out and try to really take a lot off my wedges and end up in a terrible spot where I am scrambling to save par/bogey and end up with a bogey/double. Now I have these spots where I can put myself in a very good spot for a one putt.
-Improved putting. Its hard to explain but my putts would never consistently come out straight. I changed to a blade putter and learned to hit it straight. Then moved back to a mallet putter and got the speed improved. Right now, the thing I need to work on is judgment. I still lose out on strokes not figuring out the proper speed and aiming at the wrong spot. I have noticed that my aims leave my putts missing on the amateur side.

My current handicap is a little over 7 which is mostly thanks to shooting par over 9 holes in one of my golf leagues. I have 2 chances left to play 18 holes for a score (got a scramble at the end of the year and also playing a round with my family where my sibling and I are playing alternate shot against my mom). I don't assume I will lose much on my handicap. Since I will only have access to a heated bay and a small putting section, what I am going to try and work on:

-Increasing my driving distance. There isn't much opportunity to work on much so increasing the distance without losing accuracy is something that may not drastically improve my score but it will still improve the score a bit.
-Increasing accuracy with the wedges. The idea is to be able to hit a wedge to a 5 yard radius 8 out of 10 times. Being consistent from 100 yards and in will definitely help the scores.
-Keep the putting straight. Reading putts just comes over time but keeping it straight and learning to aim it correctly will also help lower the scores.

Reviving this thread because the season is back on and its time to start practicing seriously again. As someone with disposable income and only one hobby that costs a lot of money, I have spent some of it on golf training aids and I will give you guys a review to help you decide if you really want to spend the money or not.

This thing is pretty decent. Both this and the next thing I will put up really help me swing on plane with my backswing but this allows me to swing faster. I have a tendency to take my club too far inside on the take away and end up just all over the place so this helped me way more than other tools. Would recommend

You can't really swing with this super fast but it will help you with slower swings to get the take away and back swing into a perfect spot. If you aren't on the range, use this. If you are on the range, use the black ball. Would recommend

Don't waste your money on this. You can set up tees to make sure your putting stroke is straighter outside or golf balls indoors and you will get better training than this. Heck, a chunk of wood also works (as long as its straight). Would not recommend

Careful with this thing. It does help with the timing of the swing but its a very small stick and you can lose the back swing very quickly making this useless. If your backswing is perfect, then its a good tool but wait until then. Most likely would not recommend

Not a bad option. If you are having trouble with holding your backswing in place then this helps but you can always put a credit card in your glove to get the same effect. Probably would recommend

These are wastes. If you are having trouble with this, just put a towel under your armpit like Vijay Singh use to do and your problem will go away. Would not recommend

Dumb tools. If you want strength and power with the swings, theres forearm drills to do at the gym and other equipment I will show below that do the job better. Would not recommend

These are the speed sticks and if you search speed stick golf, you will find some variation. They are club length training tools with 3 separate weights. One is lighter than your clubs, one is the same weight, and one is heavier. You can find different workouts or just swing them whenever to build up strength and speed. Can attest my 7 iron went from my 140 club to my 175 club by using mostly these. Would recommend

Initially wasn't a fan of this one since it didn't help me with my speed and power but once I started using it as a way to stabilize myself in every position while building strength there, it became a little better. Would probably recommend

I would be interested in trying the ball you put between your arms. Keeping your hands/club in front of you is a concept I struggled to really understand until very recently, even after years of playing. I've always had the opposite problem as most people who sling the club super far inside during the takeaway, I lift my lead arm up in the takeaway and get nowhere near enough shoulder turn because my arm is in the way, causing massive hooks when I turn during the downswing because I never turned enough in the backswing. Keeping the hands in front is the main thing I'm working on so far this year.
