Partly writing this to distract myself from the fact that I have to get up at 3 am for a half marathon tomorrow, have any of y'all done endurance events like that? Or maybe just some jogging for fun, maybe a little parkay too?

(This is going to be a very hilly 13.1 miles, and I'm not to optimistic about the weather!)

I just run on my own,no marathons or anything. Now that the weather is nicer I need to start again. Last Summer I would run 3 or 4 miles a day.

oh yeah, i run for fun and for exercise. I usually do 4-5 miles a day.
I finished my first Half Marathon last year. I got 1hr 56min, which is pretty good for my first.

Nice, That is good for a first! I didn't finish my first one, I wore the wrong shorts and chafed my thighs so bad I had to drop out at mile 10.:cryblood:

I ran cross country during my junior year in high school. I was never the fastest, but I once ran three miles in under twenty- five minutes. At another meet, I once had to run with my team in the mud, so we were taping our shoes to our feet since the ground was really muddy from the rain the night before. So I taped my shoes to my feet, and as soon as the starting pistol went off, I took the first step and my right shoe sank into the mud while I stumbled out of it. Of course, being as stubborn as I am, I decided to run the race on one shoe and it hurt. By the time I finished the race, the front of my sock was sagging in front like I had a rock or something inside of it because it was so muddy. I did manage to keep consistent with my under 25min time, and actually shaved off about half a minute. I thought I would look stupid if I ran back to get my shoe when I lost it at the starting line, but in retrospect I don't think it was one of my smarter ideas to run without it...

Furthest i have ever run is five miles. My ankles dont like running, so i stick to biking mostly. I do put on my braces and run sprints occasionally though. Running is a great way to burn off stress in my opinion!

I used to love to run. I would do about five to six miles a day in college. But one ACL reconstruction, three stress fractures, a bone island and herniated disk later, I don't do much running anymore. I miss it a lot.

Signed up for a half-marathon in late fall. A friend is running it too, same training team, so hopefully that'll give me motivation to stick with it long enough.

I used to participate in cross country and track and field my senior year of high school.

Lately, I've been running through my neighborhood every other day.

I picked it up last year, but fell out of the habit when some bad circumstances came up. I've been looking to get into it again as soon as I move next week - right now I live in the boonies in my city and I really don't want to run into tarantulas, rattlesnakes, and other bugs.

I run casually. Just a few miles every morning I remember to. Nothing hardcore, but it keeps me from looking like Chris.

I want to get into running. My super-athletic sister suggests Couch to 5k for me. Unfortunately I have ridiculously flat feet that really despise pounding against the cement, even in top-quality running shoes. Is wearing prescription custom orthotics in the running shoes while running a good idea? I really need to exercise more.

If you have prescription orthotics, you have a doctor that prescribed them. Ask them if the ones you have can be used in the shoes, or what other solution there may be.
