Well, I got a kit but it is missing a very important part, sadly I don't have much to show because of that. Sorry. Also I may not be on here too often, I just started working again and I'm just gonna focus on that for now. Don't worry I'll still browse here to see all your cool model kits I just will be taking a hiatus until I get use to my new schedule. Hope your builds go smoothly and have a great day! :)

I feel for you, mate. I'm waiting on a ZZ Gundam from China (Daban) and desperately hoping the thing has all its pieces, too.
I just got unlucky this time from mandarake, nature of 2nd hand things is some things may be missing. Oh well, what can you do. I hope your kit has all the pieces (it should if brand new) needed to build.

I dug these out of my closet now that my schedule is clear. I'm going to kitbash the four HG Efreet, assemble the RE/100's to see where and what needs work, and I'll get around to the Gyan Krieger last.

What would I need pla plate for? I have some but I haven't had to use it.
I'll let this video do the talking;

I advise muting the video and watching at 0.25 speed

Ah, I see he's using a Gundam body kit. Those have many flat surfaces which make pla plate application very easy. The additions are cool, though. Zeon kits are not so easy to pla plate due to curved surfaces. Even if you do apply them, in my opinion, you run into aesthetic balancing issues. I've tried to detail many HG Zeon kits over the past decades and, for me, adding small details and carving away areas of parts are the easiest routes for customizing them. Scribing custom panel lines can also be difficult with Zeon kits. Luckily Bandai is getting better at molding parts with better panel lines. I wish I could say the same about seam lines.

This is the true hero of ZZ Gundam
Ple.jpg

This kid. This cute kid is the pinnacle. The instant she appears on screen the entire tone of the episode changes. The music, the danger, the characters freaking out thinking she's Haman Karn. Then she's revealed again to be absurdly adorable and forward with an intense Newtype power even she doesn't understand. Then she's further revealed to be the secret project of a character you were made to think was just another gag character until he proved to be a legitimate PRICK. The episode right after her reveal? Haman Karn is properly introduced. The episode after that? A two-part melodrama which is just so steeped in sorrow and personal conflict.

Oh sure, there's still slapstick humor and wacky music for comedy, but after her face flashes on the screen the entire series finally returns to being GUNDAM again. I was having fun with the Gundam Team and especially Judo Chop being such a renegade he doesn't nonsense from anyone--slapping uppity women, punching the head financier of the AEUG with no apologies, boldly staring a hole into Roux's ass--but the next ten episodes after the initial few felt like agony. Then the Moon Moon crap? And then Judo gets started into the MUH IMOUTO spiral? BRUH

But then Puru right here finally sets it all straight. I can finally solidly call myself a ZZ Gundam fan and I'm only at episode 23. Supposedly it only gets better from here.
Thank you Puru. Thank you

I know she's basically the end result of the character type started with Four in Zeta Gundam and that she's a cinnamon bun created to suffer but she really is the turning point of the series.
On a side note: I don't understand so far where people say Haman Karn is worse written in ZZ Gundam. She's still as manipulative and cunning as before, even hinting at PRICK's secrets and brushing off his sad attempt at lying. With regards to her fixation on Judeu--we see from the start that she senses from his presence the same sensation she got from Char, and just like how Char grew closer to Kamille after first confusing his sense with Amuro's, Haman wants to get closer to Judeu. Also remember just how fixated Haman was on Char. Her fixation on Judeu is then explained as natural for her in this way, 1) He has that Newtype smell of Char and 2) He's got a powerful potential she wants to control. Also his Gundam is just so OP it's ridiculous that it's canon to the setting.

Anyway, I plan on making a post about my GundamCentral purchased DABAN knock-off ZZ Gundam Ver.Ka. Suffice to say it's actually shockingly good with pretty good plastic quality (it's got stress lines in the deep blue parts but they aren't that noticable, at least not when I basically got a $80-100 kit for $54). It wasn't missing any parts, came with the Enhanced ZZ Gundam parts (which, sold separately as P-Bandai originally, would now cost you an additional $70 or $90 dollars), has extra pieces on its runners, and has perfect joint articulation (for its design).
The only downside would be that the blue plastic can easily get stress marks, a lot of parts needed sanding down or modification to fit properly and by the time I was done my hands looked like I'd been punching legos.
yeah, censor the face, that'll stop copyright laws.png

This seems to be the only way to get any worthwhile kits these days. Very good price, too.

That sucks to hear. Really wish I had kept his email, 'cuz I fucked up an RX-78-01 [N] Gundam Local Type (North American Type) Jesus fucking balls, that's a mouthful awhile back and managed to track down a dude in Japan that can get replacement parts for damaged or incomplete kits. You could probably still find something like that, though. I can definitely attest to how frustrating it is to have an entire kit ruined by a single part.

Its fine, and yea it sucks but its not the end of the world, in fact, I may pick up the companion kit (the wave virtual on kits modeled both player 1 and 2 as different color molds but same parts) and make a bash type kit design. All works in the end :) just need to make sure I'm home to get the package (its not that I'm scared it be stolen but I work pretty late and its dark by the time I leave) and wait for a day off to build.

Here's my progress so far. I'm thinking of naming it the Efreet Jager. Or Pixy Killer. I took the 105 and 120MM guns from my Hildofr and the parts from all the Efreet kits I have. I have a bunch of other weapons to choose from so I'm still settling on a loadout.

are you in the process of painting it, or is that just what the OOB color scheme of the kit looks like?

It's just a snap-up of original parts as I figure out a color scheme and where I'll add panel lines and surface details. Efreets actually have some good flat surfaces. I found my other Efreet Nacht in my storage so I'm probably going to add another triple gat to the left arm. I'm also thinking about adding heat wires to one or both of the arms. If you have Gundam Battle Operation 2, it works great for planning a kit's design. You can compare your kit's seam lines and other imperfections to the game's model to figure out what needs fixing.

Since I got my first paycheck from work, I decided to buy some kits, so I went down to the hobby store and got some. Say, it is about snack time, some cup noodles will hit the spot!

Now, if you're confused as to why I posted this here is because this is one of the models I bought. Yes, I bought the meme cup noodle kit (the last one in stock too) for a quick build.

(Comes with lid and a closing sticker to keep the lid closed when cooking (closing sticker not shown)).

Now, this kit has a good amount of separation color wise, but there is a lot of stickers. Small details like the tiny divide for the U in cup is a sticker (most the stickers are big, but the small ones are really small). Also the shrimp also had to be stickered on both sides and it was folding stickers too so it kinda looks off.

The labels (and some small details to the Japanese text) are stickers. The red parts are separate pieces. Overall its a change of pace and could be fun, but due to the stickers and kinda confusing build (you have to follow the seam of the cup so it looks right), its kinda hard to recommend to some that hate stickers, but if you're looking for a quick and entertaining build, I'd say pick it up. Now I got the galantmon figure-rise as well, but I'm not 100% sure when I'll work on it, maybe later today or Tuesday, my day off. So, I hope your builds go smoothly and have a great day! :)
