The only "online community" I am a part of is kiwifarms. I made a twitter to follow the updates during the dropkf thing but I never check it anymore and don't have any other social media accounts. you couldn't even get me to participate in another social media platform if you paid me. I barely ever even read the comments on youtube videos or things like that anymore, It's always people arguing or saying the same 5 meme jokes over and over. I don't hate these people I just want nothing to do with them.

I don't see the point of using social media for entertainment or keeping in touch with people. For the former, you need to know which accounts to follow if you want anything personalized, and every post you click on—even the ones you don't like—will influence what you see in creepy ways. For the latter, most people will write short, pointless sentences to whatever you say to them. Few conversations will actually be interesting or meaningful.

Yeah and when that happens here I usually at least like the people doing it lmao, because we are a community that is together under many shared interests and often see the same people hanging out in the same places. So it doesn't become a negative annoyance, it's more similar to something like small talk with a buddy. Social Media has paradoxically never made me feel farther away from the people I was interacting with online, it's so weird how that happens, but it's true.
 
Every few months libtards come out with new Parlor/Gab/Truth Socialesque Twitter killer that will be the final nail in the coffin for Rocketman. I expect it to go about as well as Parlor/Gab/Truth Social. Riding high for awhile on hype. Leftwing versions will probably get considerably more hype and astroturfing. News stories intentionally mistaking people peeking in due to the hype then going back to twitter as permanent enthusiastic membership with only the hardest core ideologue nolifers having any signficant activity. Then eventually fizzles into some low holding pattern or completely.

Then again, Twitter was supported by venture capital for a long time before it ever became profitable, from what I understand. Who knows how long the investment budget for the anti-Musk heavily-censored Twitter-alternative will last, considering half of it's probably given by rich ideologues who care less about losing money than about propping up progressive ideology.
