I think Richard's music is at that point where its solidified in the genre its apart of as being THE quintessential material you shouldn't miss out on, but by that same note, the MOST entry level commitment one could make to electronic music as a whole. With most if not all his mainline alias albums being classics to a wide arrange of people from many backgrounds to the point they think he is the originator behind anyone who sounds similar.
He's always been the eccentric enigma with a style that reflects such, which has been his appeal for years with the great girth of works that have defined people's lives in some way, though once you dig through the genres he helped elevate and find acts like Jeff Mills, Gerald Donald & James Stinson, & Mel Tanur just to name a few, the charm of his stuff withers somewhat on re-listen.
Overrated for sure, but sorta deserved when you give credit to his prolific ability and keeping people engaged with it for so long to the point he can just dump millions of old songs on soundcloud and thousands archive it in many ways with some becoming fan favorites overnight.
P.S. DrukQs is his magnum opus.
