I’m a pretty big fan of honeycrisp especially when making apple pies because they have their own natural sweetness. It also compliments very well with vanilla bean or caramel ice creme

My true love used to be honeycrisp. But right not my absolute favorite is Envy apples. I've tried a couple other apples but none are consistently crunchy and sweet as envy. I don't tolerate mealy apples.

Oooh I never saw this thread, I am a huge apple fan! I work in produce and get to try lots of different apples.

Lately my favorite has been Empire apples, very crispy and a perfect balance of sweet and tart. Two new ones I tried that I like are Envy and Autumn Glories that have almost a honey/floral note to them.

I'm also a big fan of Gala and Fuji.

The only two I genuinely dislike are McIntosh and Red Delicious, way too soft for me.

I firmly love honeycrisps since I enjoy a sweet and firm apple, though I've also enjoyed Granny Smiths before I found them and will eat most that aren't Red "Delicious." I may sound like a broken record, but that's because those apples are good and RDs aren't

I used a Jazz apple for apples and honey this Rosh Hashanah, and now my mother likes Jazz apples too.

Cosmic crisp is my goto, but my local grocery store hasn't had any for months and I've had to branch out and try some different apples. They've had "Jazz" apples and those are pretty good.

On the other hand I've been reminded why I hate red delicious, they are a low quality apple.

I am personally an Envy guy. Gala aren't half bad either. Both are mellow and sweet, though Gala has a strangely "vanilla" note. Can't quite put my finger on it.

Red Delicious are a victim of being hyper-bred into tastelessness. Something about their genetics just suck and lack any real soul/taste.

Russet apples are my favourite apples. Some people hate the rough skin but I love it. They also taste amazing and they're never too watery or mushy.
