you just want to say how much Apple sucks, or how annoying their users/fans are, then this is the thread for you.
I've been seriously considering switching to Samsung or the Google pixel because of how bad old generation iPhone cameras are.
When I can afford it I might. I want that crisp, clear and detailed selfie and back camera, not the grainy version apple.
The android operating system is also just subjectively more aesthetically pleasing, I'm nostalgic for it since I'm a late zoomer that grew up with the shitty, bugged out android 6-8 Walmart tablets. Had a million games on them and there was always something wrong but my god, do those batteries still work, I don't think they've died in years.
I've never had a good "android phone" though. Just cheap a Samsung J-series back in 2018. So I think it'll be nice to try out a new, higher quality experience.
The android OS more apps and better Google integration.

On the other hand, apple just sucks, yeah there's pros, but more cons.

The battery life lies to you, for example, when its at 10-12 percent, your phone will start bugging out if its old, then just die. Its a horrible experience.
The lack of apps. Bluetooth sucks or just doesn't work for anything not apple made in their "ecosystem." Their cameras. Limited customization, a huge reliance on itunes. The app backgrounds, I could go on and on about how shitty I think it is but I wont lol.

I do love apples navigation system. I do love apples Imessaging and FaceTime. I do love that crisp vibrating touch when you hold down a widget.
But the cons just suck man.

When I can afford it I might switch, or just thug out this shitbrick, until it dies on me.

You'll end up like everyone else who switched, and you'll be back on an iPhone in months.

That is, if you weren't obviously full of shit. Most of your grievances are multiple generations behind reality, so there's no reason to believe you actually ever used an iPhone.

I've kept the same phone since 2020, I don't think I'd switch, but who knows, if its that bad, I could. Why though?

It's an iPhone XR. Lots of people still having the same issues. I wouldn't be surprised if IOS 18.5 is the last update for it.

Xr was the lower-end model, so of course it had cuts. It will be supported by iOS26, and if 26 improves things on it as much as it does on a 14 Pro, you'd be smart to wait and try it before making a move.

I have never encountered anyone who went from Apple to Android and was happy. A lot of the talk about customization is over-inflated, and a lot of the basic, most-used things are lacking enough polish to be grating quickly. As for the camera quality, to get anything as good as Apple offers, you'll have to pay more for an Andoid.

The best move, if you want something better than the Xr, is to get a 15 Pro or Pro Max once the 16 is about to drop. Carriers will bribe you to help them clear out stock. My last two upgrades got me $300 gift cards from the stores I got them from.

The quality of Bluetooth is worse for non apple devices, doesn't work is an over exaggeration, but I got a new pair of headphones and it's quite compared to when I pair it with a newer android device. The customization is not the greatest, sure you can change the color of stuff and add widgets, but that's about it. Battery life is horrible on this thing, I always assume its 15 below the actual number. The app backgrounds also do work different to my current knowledge, this camera does suck.

Ill admit the apps thing is bs. Everyone just uses the same 50 apps anyways.

Besides that,

Whats so full of shit?

Interesting, thanks.

I do think the new design is clean.

The less-common colors are usually only produced during the initial run, which is why they become rare later on, and are somewhat stale stock when you buy them this far from launch.

On a side note, have you installed iPadOS 26 on it yet? It's surprisingly stable in the Developer Beta release, so it's worth going for it now, rather than waiting for September to roll around.
Yup, got the bleeding edge software on everything (phone, iPad, watch, Mac, even the AirPods). Some issues here and there, but decent overall.

I upgraded my iPad a few weeks ago. Well, more like sidegraded. I went from a Pro M1 to a mini 7. It does everything my pro did, but I can actually type with thumbs, and I can just about pocket it in a pinch. Apart from the 60Hz screen, I don’t miss anything about the pro. Cellular 256GB models for both.

Apple still accepted a trade in despite the old iPad being slightly bent and having a shagged battery. According to the battery stats, this mini had been sitting in the box for nearly a year. It is a 256GB purple mini with cellular, though. How many of those can there be out there?

But all in all, I’m digging the smaller size. It’s small enough that it goes literally everywhere with me, and fits in my smallest bag.
I’d go mini if they had the 120hz screen. I buy iPads based exclusively on screen specs so I have a m4 Pro 11”.

It’s so overpowered for the role that it is comical. But I wanted the dual layer OLED, and had to pay the price for it. It’s a really nice screen, but not $1000 minimum nice.

It helped that I had $350 in gift cards to apple. But I also only buy a new iPad every 6-7 years (last was an iPad Pro 10.5” from launch day in 2017).

A new iPhone will probably fix all of your ailments. The cameras are phenomenal. That said, if you really want to switch to Android land, at least go for a Pixel, since updates for these come first, and they are committed to at least a few major version upgrades.

Oh believe me, I know. I wish it had a 120Hz screen, it’s the only thing miss. At least the jelly scrolling issue seems to have been fixed.

It would murder the battery life, as would putting an OLED on there. The Mini is mostly aimed at businesses, it's a superb platform to carry around and use a handful of work apps on. I know hospitals often give them out to nurses for example, so compromising on the screen isn't an unreasonable decision.
I love mine, and would probably love it even more with an OLED, but I do see why they did what they did. I put a paper-feel screen protector on (to give the pen more tactility), so a high-quality screen would be kind of a waste for me anyway.

I've encountered the battery issue. It's generally around the end of the usable lifespan of the battery and/or when using really power-hungry apps like anything with GPS especially if it is also poorly designed. The issue is the battery life degrades, so "100%" isn't 100% of the battery's original capacity, but whatever it has left, and something like "12%" can mean practically dead.

Replacing the battery usually fixes it, and I've never had to do that more than once (the last time I replaced an iPhone was when AT&T stopped supporting G3).
