The best extraction shooter I've played, I really dig the Retro-futurist+Brutalism/industrialism vibe to the ruins, the Bots are intimidating and that means there's a reason you don't always kill every player on sight, because the bots will kill you all.

Yea yea, there's weird ass NPC's, none of them matter, this is an extraction shooter, the entire game is running around picking up garbages, also the game runs well, so I didn't expect that at all in 2025.

I've had a blast with it so far. Did some group runs and met a friendly face helping explain some stuff to a beginner on launch day. Then I tried out solo last night which was quite fun. Had peaceful runs involving other players except for one.

The crafting is starting to make sense and seems like it will add to it. The codex seems to unlock entries for areas and I'm guessing Arc as you encounter them which adds to the world. The cutscenes for the new maps as you unlock them and the missions are a neat touch too. Hopefully you won't risk missing them if joining later into the game's life.

An extraction shooter where the AI is a real consistent threat (yes they can be a threat in Tarkov but the AI is so shit that they're easy to cheese) is fantastic. I think the combination of third person and threatening AI is making people super friendly too, it feels like the original DayZ mod in how people will just walk up and say hi.

Interesting thing about the Codex, it has the Storm from the open demo as an entry in it, explaining that it kept the stronger ARC bots away. Makes me wonder if they're gonna do more Helldivers things than its battlepass system and have more of a player involved story.

Oh and it is funny that just like The Finals the vast majority of cosmetics cover up the hideous characters entirely.

So nice of them to make multiplayer version of Screamers, now all we need are the David Units to impersonate friendly players.

This game is such a blast. I'm in love with the Anvil. I do think it is moderately annoying where you cannot get some of the rare mats from the exchange store or crafts but hopefully as the game ages we'll get something like that. I doubt they'll have a Flea Market like Tarkov.

I tuned into someone playing this and no matter where i clicked on the timeline of the stream, the character was just walking around...?
sounds like a retard, you should be scavenging which means going to places with bots, and bots patrolling around those places, which means stealth or combat, especially if you need bot parts.

OR, you can let someone else do that, and kill him, "just walking around" means you don't know what you are even fucking looking for and are going to get merc'd and drop your starter gear, and your killer is going to be equally disappointed

Ok but my point is that most of it was just walking around an empty map trying to look for loot, mixed with inventory screens. there wasn't much actual combat or anything.

Hopping into an auto-fill lobby can be really fucking fun too, as long as the other faggots have microphones. If you extract with them the game keeps you in the party, and you have to manually leave, meanwhile weirdly enough I noticed no-mic matches didn't even bother to keep the party together after extraction/failure.

that's a battle royale/extraction for you.
they kind of wanted to do something similar to hunt showdown but fag raiders is a FOTM attempt game, so you won't get people fighting that much over it and if devs drop the resource pools to try and force people into conflict then that will just make people leave because current FOTM focus is on pve lolrandom stuff and little on pvp because muh sweats and shieet.
oh and btw twitch is giving out a shitty emote.

So when the developers said this game had a 70’s aesthetic did they mean they went to The North Face and copied all their merch? Even down to their three line logo?

Matchmaking and parties seem to be fucked at the moment, solos are getting grouped in 3s and there's a fuckin login queue

And people thought extraction shooters are dead. Turns out you need to have a good gameplay first, then the extraction aspect is easy. Hopefully Bungie learns something so that Marathon breaks even.
