I tried archery in Boy Scouts summer camp, but I didn't go far with it because it required work and I wanted to spend all my time getting dicked by the Scoutmaster swimming in the lake. Have thought about getting a crossbow - they're cheap in Walmart - now.

I don't know. When I got into archery many years ago, I realized that the Amazons cutting one breast off was likely a myth. The arm bruise though is fucking brutal. It does look way worse than it feels, however.
Yeah, I have had huge bruises because I was too lazy to put on an armguard, but I have never hit myself in the tit with it.

I've shot compounds, but I never liked it. I liked the challenge of bare recurves better. If I were hunting an elk, I'd probably breakdown for a compound as a woman. Need the higher power and accuracy against something that could injured charge and gore me if I get it wrong, which has happened to bow hunters before.

Not necroing this thread to bad, but finally got back into archery after many many many years. Found a place that isn't full of retarded larpers have to do the beginner course all over again for range safety and shit but it's been fun.

Still string slapped my top of my bicep last week at practice but getting back to my old form, looking at getting my bow soon probably just stick with a basic bare recurve although i do have an bare bones recurve needs to a sting and i need to finish off the grooves for the string. Does anyone do comps or just hunting?

I used to compete when I was a kid, and ended up going pretty far. It's pretty fun to run an archery trail but unfortunately there's none that I can reach where I am now. Hunting's the only way to go now.
