Auto Archiver is a Python tool to automatically archive content on the web in a secure and verifiable way. It takes URLs from different sources (e.g. a CSV file, Google Sheets, command line etc.) and archives the content of each one. It can archive social media posts, videos, images and webpages. Content can be enriched, then saved either locally or remotely (S3 bucket, Google Drive). The status of the archiving process can be appended to a CSV report, or if using Google Sheets – back to the original sheet.

Hi, I'm writing a thread and trying to archive/download a instagram reel and so I went to Picuki. For some unknown reason that particular video I'm trying to download doesnt appear when I scroll down to find it. I've checked on ig and matched up the feed and I can't find it. Maybe because its marked unsafe content or age inappropriate? Does someone know an alternative way to download it or can i just screen record it?

maybe yt-dlp has support for it, they have cookie support to get past age-restricted content, idk if it has Instagram support but you can always check

if you want to redownload youtube videos or rearchive them on other archiving services like megalodon (or wayback if you really have to) from ghost archive just replace the url of say https://ghostarchive.org/varchive/hWTFG3J1CP8 to https://ghostvideo.b-cdn.net/chimurai/hWTFG3J1CP8.mp4, so just copy the video's name URL thingy and you will be able to watch it in generic video player if you hate their video player potentially.

I've used yt-dlp and JDownloader both for this purpose in the past.

If you can't download the particular URL with one of those, you might need to pass browser cookies for a logged in Instagram account. This would be the --cookies-from-browser firefox or --cookies-from-browser chrome command line extension for yt-dlp, for example.

Is Archive.today not functional for anyone else at the moment? I have tried all the links to it. Archive.is, Archive.li, Archive.ph, Archive.vn, and Archive.fo. All of them just give me this perpetual loading screen and occasionally refresh.

Even after sitting on the page for a while, I never get any closer to the actual website. Tried on Brave, Brave mobile, Librewolf, and Tor. I'm going to assume that this is due to the recent subpoena Archive.today suffered and that it's just a standard occurence when that happens, right? I have never encountered this before.

I've had it happen a number of times over the last couple of years. I don't remember why, but I think I read something about it having to do with their load balancing (it was a long time ago and might have been bullshit). The problem usually goes away after 12 hours or so when it happens.
